I ordered a set of BBS wheels from Tire Rack in early May for my 993. They called me soon after to confirm my order because I wouldn't receive them until the end of October (estimated). That should give you some indication of what is going on with the market, but I feel the BBS RS-GT wheels in black diamond are going to make the car...and so I wait. Good luck.

Is the RS-GT wheel a motorsport wheel cause I think they are different divisions.

I have absolutely no idea. You can look them up on Tire Rack and seem to be a popular choice for the air cooled crowd.

I ordered a set of silver E88's (18x8 ET 47, 18x10 ET 47) directly from BBS yesterday and am told they don't have an ETA but I'm first in line for that spec. I'll let you know if that changes.

The RSGT is a forged road wheel, not a race wheel.

I ordered gold centered BBS E88 wheels for my narrow body 993 in March 2021. I’m still waiting with no real updates. Originally VividRacing estimated September delivery, but told me realistically they would not be able to tell until shipments started to come in. They said even when they are received they would only be able to confirm if they could ship out my wheels 1 week before shipping them out due to not knowing how much they were receiving.

I work in the import industry so I understand 2-3 month delays in ocean freight, but this is dragging out a bit long. I always know what is on the way to me via packing lists and cargo manifests, but also I am not in the custom wheel business.

has anyone who ordered in 2021 received their wheels yet?

I placed an order directly with BBS on July 20th for a set of silver 964 NB fitment and am still operating on the 4-6 month assumption I was originally quoted.

My understanding is that BBS NA does not know what parts they will get and when. BBS ships them an unknown allotments of parts and BBS NA pieces together sets of wheels based on open orders. Not sure how that works or how the timing is impacted when you also factor in other distributors in the chain (such as VividRacing).

My rep has basically said you’ll hear from me when you hear from me, and that’s about all.

Ordered my BBS wheels via Tire Rack back in May. They arrived in October.

It's now 17 months and I still have not received my BBS wheels from Butzi Gear. 17 months, and I prepaid in full. And they're not returning my emails. I have been sending 1 email every 2 months and there is no proactive communication (and now no response). Buyer beware

17 months seems a bit long. I ordered my E88's from Carnewal last month and they said it would take 2-3 months. You are a patient man. I would have bailed at 12 months.

Not familiar with Butzi Gear. I’d first attempt to dispute the charge with my credit card provider. If that failed there’s always small claims court. That’s too much money to simply walk away.

Tire Rack pre-authorized my card, but didn’t settle the charge until the wheels shipped from their warehouse several months later. No complaints.

I think the wheels you ordered are from a different division. I don't think you can order e88's from Tire rack. Apple to apples.. You can't comment that you got your wheels at a certain time and compare time frames

The BBS motorsport wheels and parts are a different animal than the production/aftermarket street car wheels.

For what it's worth, I ordered a custom set of E87 centers to be a dimensional replacement for an old set of cracked mag E26 centers, matched by the old part number. This was several years ago, and it took quite awhile. BBS actually sent me a set of drawings to approve the dimensions before fabricating.

I replaced a second set of E26 centers a couple years ago, and in talking with BBS I found out that they have various different centers in stock in the US. And I found a very similar in-stock center that had only a 2mm different offset (hub to rim flange dimension) than the originals, so just went with those and had no wait time. Not sure what they have in-stock these days, but standard centers will be much quicker/easier to get than a custom made set.

Good luck.

Man that’s terrible. They were even in this thread posting and defending themselves and now radio silence to the OP with this dragging out 17 months. I will say VividRacing told me they could not have any updates until anything is received but they have responded to every email I sent within 24 hours. I hope Butzi does you right. I was going to order their center caps but I don’t want to promote a business that treats their customers like that.

Did you try picking up the phone and calling them? Butzi is a full service shop with a great reputation. I have no doubt they're inundated with work and emails like everyone else. But they are there every day working on customer cars. It's no as if it's some internet retail commodity that would vanish into the night. They're good people and I'm sure they'll get back to you with an apology and a resolution.
