Because the rotary switches work in exactly the same way, I’ve gone down the route of using two 993 spoiler switches.
I’ll just have to change the decal on the one used for the diff lock.

I’ve not completed the wiring as yet but I’ve worked out the pin outs, just waiting on the Porsche plugs to be delivered.

Rear Spoiler Schematic Pin Outs;

Down 964 pin 5 = 993 pin 5 GN/BK
Up 964 pin 3 = 993 pin 6 GN/RE
Common 964 pin 1 = 993 pin 2 BR/GN

Diff Lock Schematic Pin Outs;

Off 964 pin 5 = 993 pin 5 RE/GR
On 964 pin 3 = 993 pin 6 GR/BL
Common 964 pin 1 = 993 pin 2 BR

Hope this helps

Work in progress...
This is extremely helpful. I am not much of a wiring guy, but this accurate. I like what you have done to the centre console. My original idea was to do that, but I needed to keep my stereo so went with having to fashion a binnacle just under the deleted knee pad brim.
Thanks for sharing

Good lord, I had trouble finding my own thread!

since the slowdown, not much has been happening in the last few weeks, but finally got proof that the car is now in the painting bay and getting a final sand down. Looking forward to colour soon.

IIRC it has been a long time since I owned a long nose. But how does the hood latch work? I believe the long nose cars the latch is further forward. So I am assuming it is a bit of work to access the latch in the 964 position.

Meissen blue is an interesting choice. I know of a 991 911R that someone paid crazy money to have the factory paint in the color since one of the original R's was in Meissen.

Hope all is well and the craziness is starting to show a downturn by you.

I am constantly amazed at the depth of experience and knowledge on this forum. Hats off to all of you.

So it isn't Meissen Blue, but that color was a strong contender. And it isn't Singer Milwaukee either. When I decided on the color, first I had to decide my primary colour preference - and that was always going to be blue.
Then I wanted to pay tribute to vintage colors so I needed a hue that could change in different portions of the day and depending angle. Volkswagen Beetle colors such as 1967 Pastel Blue, Baltic blue and Pacific blue were in contention as well as influence from the singer cars, though it doesn't mirror any of them exactly. Porsche will not allow anyone to know the mix of Meissen - trust me, we tried. And even if I wanted to pay 12K plus, they will not release it. It was trial and error with numerous combinations before I settled with this colour and I think it imbues all the characteristics I am looking for.

The other thing, is that phots do not do this justice as everybody's camera settings are different. For eg, Greg I pulled some more pics of that car and you can see the difference in look, despite being the same color.
All Meissen , but I question that last one, it looks like Gulf Blue.

Thank Anthony. The disease progress is slowing, but the craziness around it remains. I am convinced that it will be a full 1.5 to 2 years before we get back to anything near normal and it will never be back to what it was before. The worked changed boys and it will never be the same again. Just like throughout our history we will adapt. Indoor plumbing, the steam engine, the car, penicillin, airplanes: they all changed our life and the world. The level of ingenuity and pace of invention during this crisis has never been greater.

The latching system on the body of the 964 remains the same and in the same position. This long hood has a latch system that will mate with it, and be at the right spot. So it won't mirror the long hoods of the past with a more forward positioned mechanism. The hood (bonnet) closes and secures quite nicely.

While I await the final coat of paint today, I wanted to share some pics of other details that are small but nevertheless significant.

A bit of black mesh added to OEM pre 89 grill.

Here it is mounted to the ducktail.

Anthony see the latching point is rearward of the actual front edge of the front hood.

support rod and fabricated attachment point for the very light bonnet (hood)

Needed to reinforce the deck lid latch.

SO metal fabrication and attachment to the metal surround of the vent

Should be solid enough to withstand the pressure

I can't imagine how hard it is to pick a color for a project like this!

Looks like the Road Scholars Speedster, it's Meissen Blue.
The red interior looks great also.
