Default Tail light seal question

My drivers side tail light is cracked. I found a good used one but it does not have the seal/gasket.
Question: Can I use the old seal from my cracked unit? It seems to be glued in places so I have
not tried to pry it off the frame. Thanks

There was a change on tail light seals not sure when that was. Older version looks like it completely surrounds the light updated ones just seal the ends

yes, my ‘91 completely surrounds the frame. Wondering if I can peel it off intact to use it on my replacement unit.

That’s odd my MY 91 built Nov 9 1990 has the different ones but I don’t see why you couldn’t reuse the one you have providing it doesn’t get destroyed in the process

It is entirely possible a P.O. put the older gaskets on your car and that might explain why they are glued on replace gaskets aren’t terribly exspensive. I see your a realitive new owner of a 964 Congratulations 👍

They replaced the surround seals on all the lenses in 1991 AFAIK. They were having problems with corrosion and moisture/dirt buildup with the old seals. . If you can't peal the old one off I have several of the old style both new and used.
