If those “old” racing studs are in good shape, I’d like to buy them so you don’t have them taking up space in your garage! I’m local; you have my email too from previous exchanges.

Absolutely, they’re 65 mm Sway Away studs in good shape. I installed them in November 2017. Shoot me an email, and I'll trade you for a few 4 packs of Boom Sauce.

I recognized your car at a couple events and continued to fail to come and say hi during a busy weekend.

I’m keeping an eye out on the New Hampshire Motor Speedway Event. It’s a fun track, but it’s late in the season to be tracking up in New Hampshire. If the temps dip near freezing, the tires won’t be at all happy.

Stop by and say hello next time you see me. Always happy to meet a fellow Rennlister!

Fox, I finally got to drive at Palmer, albeit just four parade laps (although quite unlimited), sans safety gear and with some very ragged driving skill by yours truly. Goughary Esq. bravely took the right seat, and after the first couple of turns I was glad to have him along to talk me through it.

I’d only driven Lime Rock and Watkins Glen previously but found Palmer to be a whole different kettle of fish. Once home, I described it to my wife as akin to a “black diamond” ski slope. The required steering inputs alone surprised me and reminded my muscles how poorly I take care of them.

Much respect to you, Ron the Red Sox Butcher and the others who routinely play there. It’s no baby slope!

I'm not sure if I missed it but I seem to remember you were trying to figure out installing a quick-release steering wheel that retained the horn function? If I didn't dream that, did you get it figured out?

NRG + Momo Hub does the job. Have it in my 964 and 993.

2.5 and 3.0 NRG will both work, correct?

I’m also interested to know the best combo here, so please feel free to keep posting here.

My Indy has been struggling to get in and out of the with an extra 20 pounds after Covid. This will make him very happy.

I have a 2.0 in my 964 and a 2.5 in the 993. The only difference is the style of the release mechanism. They wheels/hubs are actually interchangeable between the two.

Great to hear that. They both seem to have cables and so I guess they both retain the horn function as well?

After reviewing this thread (working on my brakes) I have a question- why did you need a 15mm spacer for the caliper to go to from a 304mm to a 322mm disc? It seems like it would be 1/2 of the difference in the rotor diameters = 9mm?

Hi Pete,

Your mathematics are correct, and we initially went with 10mm spacers. Real world application, however, proved the 10mm spacers insufficient for proper clearance. So we went back and milled longer extensions. Looking at the photo it appears to be 13.99mm, and the extra 4mm proved sufficient. You may be able to shave off another mm or two, but 10mm didn’t suffice in my case. The BBI uprights may have some impact on this as well.
