Default Remove Spoiler, Paint Spoiler, 968 Spoiler, or leave 'as is'?

I am planning a paint job.

Ever seen a 944 without the spoiler? if so PLEASE SEND PHOTO

i am trying to decide

1. no spoiler
2. try to have spoiler painted same as car
3. leave 'as is'
or
4. 968 spoiler

problem with 968 spoiler is that it's money i might rather put elsewhere, as the paint job is already expensive enough and i bought 968 mirrors

Thanks for opinions.

and remember, IF YOU HAVE A PHOTO OF 944 NO SPOILER, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

968 RS Adjustable! ;D Otherwise leave 'as is', unless someone can post a picture of a color matched spoiler... Definitely color match the hatch trim though, depending upon the color of the car.

no spoiler looks horrible. just go find a pic of an early 924. blech.

There are many ways you can upgrade the spoiler.

1: The standard bridge spoiler. (aka 968 spoiler)
2: Semi adjustable 968 turbo spoiler.
3: Fully adjustable 968 turbo spoiler.
4: GT racing DEEP DISH spoiler. (As seen on the Badass Black Technodyne 951 and 924GTR/GTP)

I like the standard 968 spoiler. It's not too flashy and is more funcational than the stock rubber wing

I dont think its worth the money to upgrade the spoiler, I like it the way it is stock better then all the other options, including the 968 spoilers.

Have you guys ever seen the adjustable 968 wing in person? It is REALLY gaudy for a street car. A little too overstated...I bet some people here can verify that. Looks incredible on a track car though.

Not sure if I agree Matt. I am running it on my car and it not only looks good but is also very functional with it adjustability. All my driving is on the street.

Why do I say that? Every thread looks-wise that you post on is 'I like the 951 just how it came from the factory' I like ya style.

I'm with the conservative guys here. Keep the stock spoiler and spend the money on something else, like suspension.

What condition is the stock spoiler in? Is it badly dried out? If so, you can try some of that magic protectant from Meguiar's and improve its looks.

Stock spoiler is in good condition. But the drain holes don't work well, which is no huge deal.

Mostly the shiny black car against the dull rubber spoiler just doesn't look quite good to me. So i figured i could paint it for a more homogenous look or replace it with one painted.

The idea of removing the spoiler was that maybe it'd look like a bit like a 911 no spoiler. But i'd have to SEE one first. RichSandor said old 924's didn't have spoilers, i'll see if i can find a photo.

One thing in favor of the stock 968 wing is that it weighs less. A second is that I believe it works better, judging from the way that dirt collects on the back of the car compared to how it does with the stock wing (subjective opinion there, no scientific data on hand, just visual data).
