Default So I got some cheapish LED 7" lamps, review inside

My lighting at night was terrible and I had been considering an upgrade when I came across these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I had been looking at similar ones in the $350-400 range so for $99 I figured they were worth a roll of the dice.

CONS
Light pattern is not very good at all. Streaky and no real cut off line which makes dialing in the height a bit of a guessing game.

PROS
Much brighter in low than standard bulbs, look kinda cool, no wiring. I went out in the country a bit (so it was dark) and the brights are insane. I could see deer WAY off. It actually is a bit blinding when you come up on a reflective sign and can leave you a little blind when switching back to low because you have gotten used to more light. So the brights could be considered a con depending on how you look at it.

In summary, you could do better but the price is right and I never have to worry about them burning out. Certainly better than stock and I now feel safe driving at night. I ordered some bulbs for the driving lamps to try and match color/intensity a bit. Those were $20 so I'll give feedback on those here after I try them out.

So just to follow up (in case anyone was interested) I did get the LED bulbs for the driving lights and while the color was a match they didn't make things any brighter which I was hoping for. I decided to take some pictures to help people get an idea.

These are the bulbs I purchased for the driving lights:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Low beams with driving lights

High beams (lower half lights up)

Low beams which shows the somewhat streaky light pattern

High beams which are awesome

Driving lights only, which are lame but color match

Would I buy them again. Sure. It was a big improvement over what I had, I like the light color, it lights up signs very well, the looks are sharp and the price was very good at $120 total with headlamps and fog bulbs. If they had a more even light and a sharp cutoff line the headlights would be perfect. The ones that are 4 times the cost might offer that, but I can live with this.

Your 951 doesn't have driving lights, so the light dispersal is exactly what I would expect from FOG lights. If you removed the block-off plate from your existing light housings, you could theoretically add driving lights. The driving lights project much farther than the fog lights and I have had great success using them once they are aimed correctly.

The 951 driving lights make about a 3 foot wide dot of light 50 feet in front of the car, lol
They aren't amazing for output and aren't a substitute for headlights...that said, I used them as headlights for 4 years

The euro driving light/fog combo punches out into the night pretty well, the go a lot further than 50ft.

I'm sure they do if you are using them as distance spot lights.
But when aimed in a "sort of" headlight fashion they aren't stellar...

Thanks Chuck, that's good info.

I put cheap xenlight H4 Cree leds in a hella ecode housing. It was very bad. The lights were oriented 90 degrees out, the wiring was wrong/damaged and the highs are weak weak weak.

I will probably do what you did.
