You can get thick plastic film to protect the glass from laminx.
Or you can get molded plastic covers from a British guy named Martin Mackay, if you search his name on Google.

Fog lens covers, old thread, but now you have a idea of what you can do.

I have a set of these. They work well, it was necessary to trim them a little but overall fitment is good. The screw caps are junk and fall apart but it doesn't really matter. From 3 meters distance you can't tell that lenses are covered with something.

That's pretty useful but last year a damn rock cracked the drivers fog lens. Not sure if the cover would have helped but if it does help I will purchase. The cool thing about my 86 is they sport the Euro lights, 2 bulbs per assembly on both sides and 2 switches in cockpit. Awesome night driving but not fun for oncoming traffic. I kept the cracked assembly for parts and painfully purchased a new expensive unit which sucked on my wallet. At least the Euro inners were transferable to the new assembly.

3M clear - works excellent and won't yellow. http://www.invisiblemask.com/imask/i...t_UaAvk68P8HAQ
This also comes in a spray application that works almost as well. You can buy this at any AutoZone or parts place. I've used it and it's around $20 bucks if I recall.
