Default Lindsey Racing LR Super 65 Turbo install Question

Quick question all

In the process of installing new turbo and exhaust. (installed manual rack too but thats another topic.....although I can't thank this site enough for all the help and money saving tips)

Does the LR turbo need a restrictor? Doesn't appear to have one installed.
Any gaskets needed on oil inlet or outlet or just the o-rings. I don't believe I had gaskets before but it has been awhile since I disassembled.

Hoping to get this thing back together this weekend.

Is it a ball bearing turbo or bush?
If its a BB turbo you would need a restrictor
If it is a bushed turbo you don't.
Are you running the standard supply lines?
I ran new oil feed lines on my car and put in an inline filter.

By bushed turbo do you mean Journal bearing ?

From my talks with LR, they have not sold Super Series turbos with DBB in many years.

I would just call Lindsey Racing to confirm. But with BB Turbos you will need a restrictor.
My car does not have a Ball Bearing Turbo, so no restrictor.

Buy the oil inlet gasket, for a couple of bucks and the o-ring for the turbo mount, as the one in there is probably hardened and shrunk a bit.

Took a pic of the gaskets I have laying around for all sorts of turbo's, t3, t4, t25, etc etc.

I probably have the last DBB until they sold, you will have fun with the water line fittings. I also have their feed line with filter and I had to order oil restriction orifice separately.

We sell every one of our turbo size offerings with 360 or TBB cartridge.
The Super 38 may be the exception to that only because we haven't
had anybody ask for one yet.

I would have thought the TBB would be first choice if budget isn't an issue.

My apologies. IIRC I tried to order a Super 65 a few years ago, or was it the #10 hotside that was the issue? Anyway, sorry if I mis-represented.

On a LR61-10. I'd be interested what difference the #10 makes over a #8 hotside ? AFAIK the last #10 hotsides were used up some time ago.

Cant get the super 65 to fit. I get one bolt in, but then the backside of the inlet to the turbo hits the base and cant get the other bolt hole lined up. The red line in the phoho is where it is hitting the base. Guess I'll have to get a hold of LR next week and see what my options are. Looks like they machine the backside of the inlet turbine housing, but this one needs more space. You can see how the old turbo on the left has fins the slope away so it fit ok.

At least my downpipe is ready to go in.

Just machine the engine mount. Plenty of meat available there.

I had that though and did grind it down some but don't really want to go any further.
