Default '89 951 catalytics

Gentlemen and Ladies, i am now a very happy owner of a '89 951, i have had 2 very good mechanics go over the car, their assessment: excellent condition (except needs motor mounts). pure stock except Autothority stage 2 chip, 70,000 miles. i would like to do some catalytic mods, here what's on the table:
a) Fabspeed cat bypass
b) FVD Brombacher 100 cell or 200 cell cat (cone shaped).
aware check engine light may become an issue (FVD has some remedies)
car does not require emission testing in this part of the world
car will not be a track car

Comments, experience, suggestions welcome.
Thank you.

There isn't a check engine light on the 951, so you don't need to worry.
In your case a cat-bypass would be ideal.

many thanks, i did realize after hitting send that there is not CK eng light, more of a concern to me is if i ever sell the beauty and the buyer wants a cat or must have one, how expensive is the revert to original? full bypass pipe vs. cone catalytic? i do like the Fabspeed setup but it's full length from exhaust to muffler, i.e., expensive install and revert.

Couple vendors make full exhaust like you are talking about if you just don't want an exhaust shop local to do it.
Lindsey Racing has it were you can buy it just like you want.
That's the simplest in my mind. Also can order an additional pipe instead of the cat and interchange them as you want it.... If you go with Lindsey Racing that is.

Fabspeed makes very nice exhaust stuff for this car. I have Fabspeed and it is well worth the money.

Love mine too. I have the sport cat and bypass - takes only minutes for one to swap.

unfortunately I had to get mine cut out because it had rusted over lol. But yes, they're a quick swap now provided I am willing to get all greasy

I have the Fabspeed set up with the Fabspeed cat and the bypass that are fairly easy to change out for emissions tests.
