#$&^^%!! Spanner Monkeys and Timing Cover Bolts
Hi All,
Haven't posted for a while as my 951 has been behaving itself, but recently acquired an '86 NA in reasonably good condition. Want to replace the crank oil seal and check timing belts (repkaced 4 years, but only 1000km ago). On trying to undo the 10mm bolts holding the plastic belt cover on, I found that the bolts have been done up tight enough to spin the brass inserts in the back cover. I've never come across this before, but I'm sure others have., so I'm seeking some advice as to how to extract these without ruining the covers. The one that occurs to me is Dremelling the heads off the bolts, but obviously access is awkward in some locations. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
TIA, Rob

Thanks, but my Scottish roots and the AUD$195 (USD$260) for a used set of covers caused me to get out the die grinder to take the heads off the recalcitrant bolts. A bit awkward and time consuming, but not $195 worth...
