I think that the video rhesus has shown, proves what we can do to bike if modded properly, i dont think i can pull bikes from 0- 100 or 30-100 but i know and have done 60-120 and 70-120+ and 80-120+ countless times and won and alot of time the bikes were many cars back, if you dont believe it, you drive a slow car and so i guess how would you know otherwise... My last post on this, no need for me to brag that i had the fastest porsche in my part of New York

Have you ever timed your car from 60-120? Just wondering.

Some data for comparison purposes. The 02 Aprilia Mille R runs a quarter mile in 10.30 at about 130mph. The 0-60 time is about 3.5 seconds. So it should theoretically do the 60-130 in about 7 seconds.

That 993 pulling on the R1 was modded to death. Did you all see the flames? I guess a lot of hp - but it also means 10K on that engine max before it blows to bits?

R1 will last 150K - full throttle.

Stock ''Hybe'' would blown that 993 out of the water.

Teckart, what were the mods on your 951?

I am the first one to say that I can hang with 600's - but that dipshat in the 993 pulled into the middle of the road. If I had been on the Yam, I wouldn't have gone around him either - not doing that stupid shat.

Flames has nothing to do with the level of mods on a car. and the level of mods has little to do with an engine dying quickly. If it is modded properly, it would last longer than 10K miles. If not, then most of us will be with out our cars very soon. As most in here are running 60-70% more hp than stock and some running double stock hp and boost.

Todd come on - we all have mods but flames? The 993 in the video was seriously modded - race cars flame the way this guy's does - not our 70bhp+ cars. The 993 in question must be a good 500-600bhp monster - just look at the video again. Unless it's a Gembala conversion where everything on the engine is upgraded and redesigned the longevity of the engine at this level of mod is seriously reduced.

The Porsche 951Cup when racing only did 3 races between the engine rebuild - it had 350bhp.

Most here are running 60-70% more power? I don't. And if you are on 425bhp and your car will do 350K miles - well done.

Well and when I said 10K I was metaphorically speaking.

It must have taken FOREVER for that turbo to spool up. Out of curiosity, how did you mount it? That turbo is significantly larger than the stock turbo. For that matter, how did you get the manifold on?

I think i sold it due to several reasons. The first being I want to build a 968 turbo s in a year or so, It was tuned to the max for a 2.5, i would of preferred it to be a 2.8 or 3 liter motor but as i started the engine rebuilding i went the cheaper route and should of paid for the extra displacement in hindsight if i did it again. Once you decide to go 2.5 your stuck with other future mods being limited in a sense. I didnt really need to sell it but i put a few ads out and asked more than its book value was not thinking it would attract many offers, but it did. I got an offer from every guy i test drove in it, some were telling me that they were offereing less for it because it was too fast and they didnt really need all that power and electronic gizmos, i said fine but the price is still firm, i did not budge in price. Again my point being inside i didnt care if i sold it, i really loved the car and have visited its new owner many times since it sold. I even took my girlfriend to see it and a drive, god its hard to say goodbye to such a quick machine. The car also had stock wheels and brakes from 1986, i always wanted 18's and big reds, so on the next buy ill hopefully get that in the sale. I started thinking to ask 16k for it, but lowered myself a bit and got 1k more than i paid for it back in 1994.

Kinda hard to compare a two wheeler to a sports car. Like comparing a catamarang to a monohull sailboat... Two different animals. NOTHING can compare to riding a bike through the twisties... NOTHING! And You and your machine are one...! You are not driving a machine, you become the machine. One movement of your body and your bike goes in new direction... Seems as if most of the posts here were responding to the speed issue.. if you talk power to weight... bikes will win!

Just found some performance figures - hard to find - CBR600F4:

0-100kmh (62mph) = 3.2 seconds
0-200kmh (0-124.3mph) = 10.5 seconds.

Never-mind a Hayabusa:
0-100 (62mph) = 1.716 seconds
0-200kmh (0-124.3mph) = 7.5 seconds.

1/4 mile for Hayabusa is 10.025 seconds at 139.78mph trap speed.

Top speed 325kmh or (201mph) - reached within a mile!

So, regardless of how modded 951 can be it will be really difficult to beat these sort of numbers.

ZX-12 never came close to its claimed top speed (US models have an unadvertised speed governor!). FYI, IMHO the ZX-12R is a pile (fit and finish is poor at best dangerous at worse, exposed wires, etc, etc)

NOT AGAIN!!!

The car vs bike thing is simply mental masturbation.

Heres the deal. Enough talk.

You people REALLY think that a bike is slower than a 951 (or 993)? That that a bike handles worse?

How bout this. Lets put up a little wager. I live in CO. Lets see someone put their money where their mouth is.......

Hell, I will even let the 951 shift into 2nd before i leave the line with the busa. Or do you think you can do better in a roll-on? I will stay in 6th until you acclerate...then I still have to downshift....come on...any takers????

You wanna run around corners? Its only a little 125....

Any players????

As I have said..mental masturbation. And as you can see, I can actaully compare the things myself.....
