He did seem to be taking it careful through T1 I thought, but he's the guy driving it! Not bad for the second lap in anger though..

Don't underestimate the amount of work the driver have to do to make it look that stable. When I put I pro driver in my car and myself shotgun it was an eye opener. The car looked like it went on rails but he was working the steering wheel very very much.

Which electric steering rack did you use?

Its a manual rack with the dc electronics epas, the same column as in some opels with a canbus controller.

How simple would you say flipping the head was? Probably couldn't be done in regular 944 Turbo cause of space but I'm very interested. Seems it simplified plumbing and gave much better access to several things.

Not the simplest job.

You have the oiling and water ports to look at.

Why not just switch the cam timing around and flow the ports backwards?
Not ideal, obviously, but they are pretty big and boost can mask flaws pretty well.

It's not the simplest thing but not too difficult, mainly fabricating the oil drains. But it's a trade off, we can run cooler intake temps and better exhaust manifold, but the intake manifold is a very tight fit. It's just a small engine bay!

I see that but the Turbo switching is much easier. Crossover gone. Lots of room for exhaust. Doing things with the head or around it seem like they would be super practical. The way you guys set up the aero and the engine bay look like it's staying pretty cool under there.

About to send my head out (street car) but I've been looking at these head flip a ton. Also have dual cam gears.

Yes we had a bit of trouble fitting the intake manifold, but the exhaust side and the intercooler set up works really well. When you seal the engine bay it does get a bit hot but our intake temps were within a few degrees of ambient.

I honestly don't see the point in a street car. Even in a standard track car.

In Rods case and Patricks, gaining 0.01 of a second could win them the whole race (in class or rods case the whole event)

Also need to think about building the intake to suit + Injectors, new vacuum lines to the intake.
