Did you try loading the base map .bin into your DME Tuner, or just swap in the other DME?

Most likely a PEBKAC issue in this case.

we downloaded the "base tune" files off your website and uploaded them to the DME that came in the car without any change in how it ran...it would idle in a 400 rpm range (900-1300ish) or so and if you revved it up the afr and tach needles would dance around even without moving your foot at all

also tried messing with some things on the tune, and under the hood, couldn't get anything to work. ISV disabling at the diag. plug and by unplugging it, o2 sensor, wiggling wires and hoses etc

Josh the other dme is just a regular 28pin dme with your chip, the only way I can have that bin file is if you provide the file to me since you put it on that chip

I can pm you the customer name is a fellow lister i would need the last program that you burned in his chip, also what I noticed is the car goes like in overboost protection once I hit 10psi, do you think this could be a bad map sensor?

Hmm, sounds like a software mismatch...

Yeah, it wouldn't have started unless you flipped the little 24/28pin switch as well.

I'll get a new chipboard out to you...

Could be the MAP sensor, or the DME doesn't think it is getting a good MAP signal.

Do I need to check voltage for the map sensor as per your website?

Stupid question, the previous owner of the car had set according to him with the maf tuner software a limit of 10psi, but by installing a new dme with setting of 17 psi wouldn't that override the first setup, where and how you limit the psi? with the software?

Swapping the DMEs would have overridden any limit of the first DME...
There is most likely an issue that the software is trying to keep the motor from hurting itself.
