Default 968 Bell Housing, clutch, & flywheel on 951

Has anybody actually made the swap to all of these items? From searching, I have learned this much from John:

When going with a 968 Bell Housing, you will need to modify the X-over pipe for clearance. Once you go with the smaller 968 clutch assembly, you have to deal with the speed & ref sensors as well. The 968 comes with a 60-2 trigger wheel, not speed/ref like the 951.

I assume this would really only be feasible if running a stand alone which could readily interpret the 60-2 trigger wheel.

I would love to gain the ability to perform a less than 4 hour clutch change, but this seems like a ton of work and money to gain this benefit.

Pretty sure George D went to a 968 bellhousing. Check with him Eric.

Thanks Patrick!

I am sure George is running a stand alone, which would make since. I saw his write up along with Sean about using the 968 ABS blue relay for the speedometer. I am going to have to locate these items as well.

I've done it, I run motec, still used the clewet though. You need a 968 starter motor, I used a gt2 pressure plate, but not to many options for the clutch disc.

You would also need to use the 968 TT as well.

You'd also need a 968 clutch hose and (I think) slave cylinder.

And you'd need a 3-piece crossover pipe, otherwise it might block the access panel of the 968 bellhousing, defeating the purpose of it all. Is that the modification you mentioned?

IMHO it's not worth it, unless you change your clutch very often.

Pretty sure I am not going to go this route, I agree it is a ton of work and money for little benefit.
