Default Heat Shields

Looking at the PET, it is not an easy task to trace through and locate them all.

Does anyone have an all inclusive list of the heat shields used? If so, can you please share?

TIA-

I'd also like to know. I'm at that stage in my build, and I got most of it figured out from google image searches, but there's still some doubt about it.

Hi Jay,

There were five shields on the turbo motor I am just completing.

1. For the air oil separator, silver paint
2. above the left motor mount, silver paint
3. Located between the turbo and head, attached to the brace for the intake manifold. Not painted

4. for the oil filter and oil cooler assembly. Not painted

There is a long ~3 feet, heat shield for the catalytic converter, up in the tunnel. And there is a large heat shield above the muffler.

On the 924, there is a lower heat shield for the cat, but I have not seen this on the 944.

I took a look at my 87 turbo, up on the lift, and there are no other shields present.

Is there a shield you are try to find a home?

Alan, et al

There isn't a shield I'm trying to find a home for, it is more of a question on what shields are present on the 951 that should be added tot he 968 when converting to a turbo.

I (and others perhaps) should incorporate those that Porsche deemed as minimum equipment for this type of a conversion project. That's not to say that there may be other areas (noted wrapping of exhaust components, crossover pie, etc) that have been incorporated by others with measurable success.
