Default Manual boost controller

For those of you with manual (or digital) boost controllers where was your preferred place to install it? Any tips or suggestions? Just received mine + wastegate from Lindsey.

-Thanks

I put mine in the glovebox. Out of the way, less chance of someone else (like my wife) driving my car and adjusting it inadvertently, but still accessible from the driver's seat if I need to adjust it.

I put mine under the hood where the cruise control would be if my car had it. A friend of mine who has his cruise control installed it in a similar spot using the holes on the cruise control bracket. Its a very simple and clean look. At first I wanted to put it inside the car but truth be told, I haven't adjusted it since I first tuned it in on install.....MBC btw

Anyone else have pics of their boost controller? Much appreciated.

What could be pretty nifty is to put it over by the smog vapor valves so it kind of blends in.

I had mine under the radio and prefer in cabin access for setting the pressure or being able to turn down when a higher pressure is not desired.

In my opinion there's no real need to set a MBC inside the car besides having a conversation piece for you to talk about every time a new rider gets in the passenger seat. For example, if you're comfortable at a certain boost, say 18 psi, and you don't want to go any higher then set it there. if you want less boost then simply don't floor the pedal. Even with it set at 18, that doesn't mean you have to go that high all the time, use less gas pedal. When you decide you want to get on it then your boost is right where you want it without messing with adjustments. I can't really think of any reason why you'd need to have it in the cabin, even at the track if you wanted to set it lower due to wot then you'll probably be under the hood for other reasons anyways. It makes sense to put a ebc in the cabin but that's a different setup

I wouldn't run 18lbs on a boiling hot day or 16lbs on a chilly one

Mine is in the same place as Mahoney's

That way if I feel the need to "hit the pipe" I at least have to think about it first.

blade- Here's a naive question: How do you know what boost pressure you are at with a manual controller? What are the risks of too much or to little depending on outside temp.

Thanks

You ABSOLUTELY have to have a boost gauge if you have a MBC.

Mine is located in my glovebox with a foot of extra hose on it so I can let it hang outside the glovebox for periodic checks.

I usually leave mine on 17 but I have to adjust it when it cools down/gets hot
A morning just last week resulted in hitting the overboost protection at 18psi...
