Default 16V dyno mash

The first dyno mash is ready. Apologies for the rather crude resolution.

Stealing this idea from refresh951. The few of us running 16V Turbo engines deserve our own thread. So keep em coming. Remember to post specs. I'll go first.

Spec
-3.0 S2, stock bore and stroke
-JE 8.0:1 compression (probably slightly higher due to decked block twice)
-Dry sleeves
-Piston squirters from 968.
-H profile conn. rods
-Custom intake (made by an idiot(not me) and a piece of crap. Will be changed)
-Lightly ported (done by the same idiot that made the intake, probably more harm than good done)
-3" exhaust
-Link G4+ Storm
-Comp CT4X-6467T4 AR .81
-Chris White 60-2 trigger.
-LS1 coils
-Sequential injection

Dyno done on waste gate spring pressure of 0.8 Bar. Torque peak is because of slight overboost

KSira, that engine has a lot of torque even off boost...do you have any positive manifold pressure at 2000rpm or is it basically breathing atmospheric there? Nice power without pushing much boost!

I thought the "3 liter turbo registry" thread(the sticky thread second down from the top of the thread list in this section) already had all this.

I think they are missing the point of mashing tgem together on the same graph.

This is specific for the 16V. The other thread is mostly 8V, as this is the most common.

Maybe it will be when we get more than one dyno in this thread with specs.

There is some positive manifold pressure, at low RPM. The attached log shows a 2. gear pull with change to 3. gear up to 5000rpm. Notice that it takes almos a second to build full boost after the gear change. The plan was to change to a smaller turbo, but looking at the NA dynos of an S2, the high torque peak 4k RPM seems to be the characteristic of the engine, and I'm not sure if a smaller turbo will gain much in spool up.

This can be useful also for 2.5-2.8 16v builds.

13 (+1) posts so far and only 2 dyno sheets. Interesting.
