It is all in the details. This motor was a 2.5L with a relatively small turbo. The motor produced 410 bhp. The long runner provides dynamic charging on the order of 2-4 psi in the mid range which the GPT motor obviously benefited from.

The short runner, large plenum intake really only sometimes makes sense on a bigger motor with a large efficient turbo capable of delivering plenty of boost in the mid range and then benefiting from higher VE after 6000 rpm due to the shorter runner. It really makes sense on a motor with a higher than 6500 redline.

Im working on a new intake for a 2.7 liter 8 valve head.

All the parts are cnc-milled out of aluminiumbillets except the runners.
I have not really decided how the lid of the plenum going to look yet but im working on it

Nice job, but why the straight shape of the intake? You can get much better results with a v-shape!

Thanks
Your intake look really good and will probably work very well.

Yes the shape is straight but there will be one more part welded on later.
I have not decided if im going to feed the air between cylinder 2 an 3 or at the front like on your intake?

On my old intake i feed the air between cylinder 2 and 3 and it seems to work.
This engine made 481 RWHP on the dyno.

I would always enter from the from, you get much better similar airflow on all cilinders!

I would really advice to get the extra part welded on, similar to mine!

Made some progress this weekend and milled out the second part of the plenum.
Some welding left to do but most of the work is done now

I hope it will work ok.
The 65 mm throttlebody is from a Volvo 960 so there is at least one swedish qualitypart on the engine
