I'm not trying to copy, but just curious about what might be upgraded.
I will also take pictures of the stage 2 CV's from LR. Good deal they are under full warranty. If these are the stage 2's, Dave is going to overnight new axles from inventory. Looks like I'll be fighting those stage 8 locking 12 point 10mm socket.

The stage 2 axles are rated to 1000 ft lbs of force. These should hold up then I'll find the other weak link in the driveline.

Ha, the SFR 5" exhaust was discarded some time ago George. It might make it's way back onto a streeter I'm building up but we'll cut some of the rear stuff away to bring it back down to 3.5" or 4".

So here's a couple of pics. Clearly a difference. Dave know's all about it. I'm sure he'll do the right thing. Yours look to be the earlier ones by the boot but later by the colour of the axle. But you need the better CV version.

The only problem with beefing up your CVs is that you may move your weak point to something significantly more expensive to repair.

I would just get the v2 of the LR ones and see how you go. We've had no issues so far with these. Having said that, we don't rev it up and drop the clutch at traffic lights like some might do on their road cars nor do we have to do hard starts on the track.

$$1200.00!!!!!!!!!!!

wow, I just checked them out, but man, that a bit of coin for cv's!!

Should be lifetime replacement for that kind of dough.

I applaud them for offerning them but that's an elite group with that kind of $$ for 944 axles

On the other hand, mine bone stock axles held up just fine while 2nd gear exploded in the tranny...

Tom, the weak link is the issue towards progress. I don't abuse these cars, never dumped the clutch with this much power. When I had Technodyne, Powerhaus, and Huntley in the mix, the 330whp was easily transferred to the tires. Not the case today. I'm hoping, eventually, the tires become the shock absorbing part of the driveline during acceleration.

Time will provide the tale.

I'll be sending you exact measurements. If done cheaper, god bless. There is nothing I'll share not easily known. Want to help a fellow 951 fan.

Back into the bitch of backing out those stage 8 locking bolts. PAIN IN THE ***!

Thanks Patrick,

Kate Darling will be in Sydney end of June. Thanks for the contact information. Kate has finals here in the states, then the University of Wollongong for a year. We'll meet soon.

Interesting. Haven't had any issues with my factory axles at 20lbs yet. Let's hope I don't.

There was some serious wear. The cage was mangled once things let go, but it's obvious this has been an issue for some time.

Input?
