Another possible way to do it is measure around the circumference and divide by pi.

I don't have calps that are big enough to span it but I tried my best to measure the radius which when doubled came out to around a 9.2" diameter. All of the brake components are still attached so that measurement could be off by a large margin from me trying to eyeball the calipers to the edge. I will use a piece of string when I get home from work today and try calculating from the circumference just so I can be sure. It's an early car so there is a chance it's smaller than a turbo booster.

I got the same , roughly 9.5" in diameter and about 5 " to the front of the booster from the firewall . I included a couple pics , one with the part number .

Ok thanks Royale and JWebber. So far, nobody’s got a bigger one than me! Anyone else want to chime in?

Wont be able to measure mine for a few weeks, but I'm not worried really. It's just a regular ole' NA 84' 944, nothing special about it... Except the 40% LSD 😏

Hey guys! Mike from Boost Brothers Garage here. Haven't been on RL much lately as I got "politely" asked to stop posting any of my YouTube stuff without being a site sponsor. Anyway, I keep missing things so I'm subbing! Here is my 07K mill, a CBU from an 08 Jetta with 95k miles. Purchased it on Ebay for $285 shipped. My plan is to go NA first, do performance testing, then go turbo and test again, all while documenting the process. With Alan and I each doing a build, it should be a great resource for everyone. It helps that we live in the same city. So glad to see all the excitement around this swap. I for one can't wait to get it in my race car!

Here is the "race car". It's an old B Stock car, the definition of a momentum car haha.

Consider it done! Nashville is a great city...
Yes, that’s the filter housing.

Been sitting on my money , then something comes up just now . Just bought full Porsche Cayenne calipers for my suspension upgrade coming shortly . Had a guy been offering me a couple hundred for my Corrado Ecode headlights , now to see if he has the money . If not , I guess I need to donate some blood or something .

Alright, good to see Mike on here. Which is good timing... starting in a couple weeks I’m going to have to take a little hiatus from the 07k stuff. I’m going to be out in the cold installing siding for 3-4 weeks. I’ll still be getting all the Base Kits together in the meantime (I have about 50% of the parts sitting here now). I just won’t be putting in the crazy hours I’ve been doing on designing the parts. Almost everything is designed and ready to be made now:
- Bellhousing is ready for Quick Time as soon as pricing gets approved (and I have a backup design just in case QuickTime doesn’t pan out)
- Engine mount pieces are all here now. After I test fit with iAbeds parts, we just need to weld and powder coat them. (the royal we)
- Intake manifold design is done. I’m getting ready to pull the trigger on tooling for that. It will probably be 2-3 months before I will get the first part to test fit, so I figure I better get that ball rolling soon.
- Oil pan needs design work, but I’m pretty confident in my approach. That will probably be the first thing I’ll jump on designing after I’m done with the house stuff.
- 3-piece crossmember is designed and ready to make, but I’m holding off on making any for now since it looks like everything will fit fine around the stock crossmember and steering rack position.
- I have a prototype pilot bearing adapter ready to test fit. However, it looks like SPEC is going to make a customized version of their aluminum flywheel for this swap which will incorporate the pilot bearing adapter into it. This should save some $ vs two separate pieces. Anyone who doesn’t want to use the SPEC flywheel can get an adapter from me (or maybe I can give you the dimensions to make it yourself). This prototype has a little goof in the hole pattern, but will work fine for test fit.
