Default E85 and Injectors??

Getting myself in a muddle here. We have had some issues with the ID2000 which may just be the brand of E85 we used or the Inj itself. We had to keep swapping them out after nearly every run on the track. Time consuming and annoying, not to mention possible issues with loss of fuel pressure. They kept getting blocked by gumming up. We even ran them without the baskets as advised by others with similar experience. So now we've switched fuel source and going with a different brand (http://www.martiniracing.com.au/inde...martinire85116) however we have a track meeting this weekend and at least 3-4 of the 8 ID2000's have come back from the Inj shop uncleanable. He spent 2.5 hours on them but no good. So now I'm trying to source some alternatives but am getting a lot of conflicting advice which way to go.

Some said Siemens were good but I have to assume that Siemens and Bosch are the same thing with a different colour? Others are saying that the H.i. EV14 Bosch are the way to go yet a guy that sells them says stay away from them with E85.

Are all injs just Bosch or a version of them? Who is using what with their E85?

siemens have been the popular one. Strange with the ID injectors. IICR they use them on the v8 supercars? and the best known injector for e85.

Yes, I'm getting a lot of mixed info here. Told that the Sucrogen we were running has mtbe in it which kills the injs. Someone else saying they switched from ID's to Indy Blues and have been fine since...but they're all Bosch. Confusing to say the least.

I read that the ID are a bosch based injector but far from being the same thing.

Might want to have a look at these

Some say it´s because the PIB in the E85.
Other says it´s because to much blowby and others say it´s to much heat in the head and the injectors get to hot.
Here´s a long thread about it
http://forums.evolutionm.net/e85-eth...nk-e-85-a.html

I have lucas injectors and they are junk, will probably switch to bosch ev14 injectors.

Hmm, some interesting stuff is coming out on a few different forums. So it looks like this MTBE is the main cause but also someone has said that the Indy Blues being a pintle type are less susceptible to blocking than the more usual plate/disc type. Don't have time for this now...

My experiences showed the ev14 are good but the siemens deka's are good injectors as well, both very suitable for E85!

BUT, i almost forgot to say; get the 1000 or the 2000cc for the EV14's as the ones in between don't like E85 as much!

Hmm, that was not good news Do you have any complementary info regarding this? I´m running with E85 1260cc Trickflow injectors and the engine is running really bad, the broadband lambda is showing over 1.1 when the thottle is over 30% and the engine misfire alot. So I suspect the injectors and thinking of changing to EV14-1200cc. They are also better on partial load.

According to Bosch Motorsport the EV14-injector is made for E85.

Correct MTBE is the cause of your issue. The link i sent you are injectors what work with MTBE.

Basically i searched: mtbe compatible injectors

You could try ID1300s? They are the newest ones and support E85/Methane/MBTE/etc/etc. ID2000s dont handle MTBE. ID1300s are specifically designed for alternative fuels.

I wonder if it can cope with the same fuel load being a 1300 v's 2000cc inj though? Can't understand why they'd make an inj especially for the aftermarket tuner / E85 in mind and limit it to a 1300cc size??

The 1300cc injectors are a good size for the 6 cylinder turbo cars, they're filling a gap in the market. 1300cc should be enough to support around 475whp on E85 in a 4 cylinder application.
