Default AN-12 or AN-10 for twin oil cooler setup?

Just wondering what to order. I have bought two setrab coolers and need to order the hoses and fittings.

If I remember correctly the inside dia of the factory lines and fittings corrspond to AN-12.

I'm figuring AN-10 will reduce both weight and the amount of extra oil needed. Should also clear bubbles quicker. Will it be too tight and cause a drop in pressure?

22mm. As far as I can tell that is closest to AN-12

Most likely AN-10 for a 22mm fitting, BAT has all the lines and adapters you'll need for the project. http://www.batinc.net/mocal-central.htm

Plan a route for your lines and fittings carefully. There was a thread not to long ago about lack of pressure in a dual set up and if I recall correctly some folks thought it was due to the orientation of the ports on the cooler, might be worth a search. I have twin coolers with the ports facing up. EDIT: I used 120 and 150 degree fittings which is not great in terms of efficiency and still I have no issues with high oil temps though, I also ducted them.

I'm planning to do what you have done. It looks great, and I believe the fittings should be up so any trapped air can escape the cooler.

Is it a general truth that dual coolers cause more of a pressure drop than one large cooler? If so would it be better to run them in parallel rather than in series?

Considering hot oil is less viscous than cold oil would it be better to run the feed line to the drivers side cooler so that as the oil becomes cooler it has less pipe to travel through? I'm theorizing this could help limit the pressure drop.

I'm running AN-12 to 2 Setrab 619 coolers with no noticeable pressure drop.

Nice to know. Are they connected in series?

Use AN-12. Also, the pressure drop will be lower if you have lots of short rows in the cooler. Fewer long rows make more more pressure drop.

AN-12 is what you want. If you measure the ID of the stock stuff you will see that it is close to AN-12. I'm running two coolers in series also.

I don't get it. Why not just run 1 big one. Keeps the oil just as cool if not cooler. I put mine in front the AC fan. So if I am stuck in traffic or the oil starts to get hot I just turn on the AC and cools the oil.

As stated above, use AN-12 lines.
I dug up my receipts and see I also used -12, cooler and adapters below, fittings and lines are more custom:

(2) 13 row M22F 235mm Oil Coolers, Item #A13F22
(4) M22 x -12AN Cooler Adaptor, Item #M22AN12-SE

I also picked up a small cooler for power steering.
(1) 10 row -8AN 115mm Oil Cooler, Item #A10A85

That's what I've done! But there are legitimate reasons to run two in series - because that's what you have on hand and/or it's easier to mount and duct air to.

Thanks guys for sharing. Van, your single cooler looks super nice, but thanks for defending twin coolers. I have a big cooler but I did not want three radiators in sandwich. I'm keeping my AC for now because I plan on going on a trip trough Europe and it gets really hot when you get stuck in a queue.
