Default installed delrin hatch pin seats today

Installed the delrin hatch pin seats from only944 today to address my difficult to shut hatch no matter how much I frigged around with trying to adjust it.
http://only944.com/partscatalog/only/hatchpinseats.html
Quite an easy job with clear instructions, http://only944.com/instructions/hpsinstructions.html
Hardly anything remained of my original RHS hatch pin seat while the lhs didn't actually look to bad. Anyway, replaced both and now have a functioning hatch back again.
So kudos to Kyle, great product!

I put some in a couple of months ago and they got rid of all the hatch noise. There are no rattles or squeaks in my car, now. I think that is amazing for a 27 yo car. All that rattling around for so many years may be another cause of the seal on the hatch eroding.

Getting ready to order these myself. Along with the shifter pieces.
How close were the pins to being aligned after the seat install?
Did it require much fiddling to get them aligned?

ordered a set as well.

easy way to align the pins - tighten the nuts on the latches snug, then back off a little, then close the hatch and climb inside and tighten them down. let the pins align themselves. get out and test with key, repeat if necessary. when the pins are completely aligned, the hatch should be able to open by itself when you turn the key without you lifting at all

I needed to lengthen my pins a little, for the alignment yeah just tensioned the bolts with the hatch closed as per the instructions.
I've still got a rattle or two back there, haven't yet located the source.

I've bought almost everything Kyle has for sale. He doesn't gouge us on shipping and the products all work just as described. We need more vendors like Kyle and Kyle needs more products for me to buy!

Thanks for the post. I was not aware of only944.com and I ordered some other stuff.

I am still debating on the delrin hatch receivers since I have replacement pins.

You definitely want to get the hatch receivers because the originals have, in all likelihood, crumbled away.

After installing the delrin receivers, I am convinced the 944 community has been wrong all along about the need to replace hatch pins. Once I had the receivers in place, my hatch quit rattling and it opened easily with both the key and the switch, like is was new again.

I'm going to get some as well, thanks for the report. Had anyone had success with their trunk and hatch seals? I'll do those too if it is not a science project.

This all reminds me, I really need to do a write up on the hatch relamination procedure. I've done three now using 3M urethane glass products and none of them leak a drop. It isn't very hard, I always cringe whenever I see a guy talking about spending 500-1000 on a replacement hatch that is just as old as the one that delaminated.

Please do! I have read a few posts and most seem like more work than I am willing to tackle at home.

I have two hatches and both are starting to go....I also have a metallic rattle from somewhere
