???? I am starting to think that you need a new mechanic!
There is no metal trim and the window is held in by just the rubber molding. You can replace the window in 20 minutes without working hard. The glass itself is very cheap in the used market and the rubber molding is reusable. No sealant to clean up either!
By far the cheapest window to break in a 944. I would feel guilty charging more than $100 to replace that window.

its pretty easy - which is good because you have to remove it to get to the rear speakers! The vinyl cover on the interior rear quarter panel goes over the metal that the rubber window gasket covers.

Three Wheelin'
I remember a "rehabilitated" former Porsche car thief bragging in my shop that that the 70's and 80's 911s were the easiest cars to steal. He used to cut the seal of the passenger 1/4 window with a box cutter, pry the window out, and get into the car...and you know the rest.

Ruf winter it was. Still looking for new nose panel. And then going to install the spoiler and bumper.
Still need to replace shattered left rearview mirror glass
Repaint the front lip
Install clear turn signals
Order custom h&r front springs to drop the front ride height about 1-1.5"
Get new custom wheels if not repaint these again.
And i should be ready for sowo 2014
