4 Degree cam key vs 0 Degree (data log)
I got a chance to run a log on the the 4 degree cam key and can compare it to the factory.
A few things.
My car isn't stock..
My car has a very custom cam which involves more lift and custom lifters.
Non factory turbo and non factory exhaust.
basically to read the chart. Everything with number 2 on it (so the last 3) are with the 4 degree cam key in the advance position.
From looking at it... I think i rather stay with the factory key.
I am getting boost sooner but the torque has dropped from 3500 - 4500 compared to previously.
My 100-160 times increased by .2 seconds (from 4.5 to 4.7 seconds) (in 3rd gear)
What do you guys think?

Where did you get custom cam?

Remember, you want to look for "area under the curve"... And, the "area" between the 2 torque curves above 3700 (favoring the stock timing) is larger than the area between them below 3700 (favoring the retarded timing).

What would be the best place for custom 951 camshaft if one wants to keep his organs?

Did you try flipping the key to advance the cam instead?

From: In the garage trying to keep boost down
I know some CEP cams might already be in the advance pos. So when you put it in the "stock" pos its actually in the advanced. I would check with him. I might be wrong.

The way I see it is that increasing the breathing ability of an engine (better cam, larger exhaust, better turbine) increases how sensitive it will respond to variations in the tune, which includes timing the cam.
Put differently, increasing cam timing right away by 4° may be too much. I would try several increments until getting it "right".
