what the heck is this turbo?
I got a "large" turbo a while back and I have no clue what it is.
70mm exducer, 58.3mm inducer, compressor case says .70a/r
It is a kkk center section with a 6 oem hotside.
2.75" inlet 2" outlet.
wtf is this? No other markings.

A 70mm exducer is usually a TO4B wheel so it could be that wheel, a stage 3 turbine by garrett is close to a #8 wheel. So it could be a TO4B, stage 3 with a bored kkk #6 hotside

OK, some digging has revealed the hotside is a #8 wheel in a machined #6 housing
Now am I right to think its a 70 trim turbo based off the compressor wheel measurements? What power range/rpms would this thing be good for?

Doug, your turbo is what is generally called a k27/big 6. It is a trade off between the power of a k27/8 and slightly better response of the k27/6. Machine the hotside and fitting the larger wheel does allow more peak flow, but the machined hotside still will not flow as much air as a factory #8...which also isnt much to start with. I'd say that turbo is good for ~320 whp with a MAF, and would probably hit full boost ~3100 rpm in 4th. This is going off my experience with my mystery k27/8, which I have determined is modified in some way and seems to spool up faster and make more power than most people with a k27/8.

As far as power output, not an upgrade. If you need a lot more flow than a 60-1 can provide, you should maybe think about a full T4 turbo/HX40 or something in that size range.

Doug, what kind of power are you getting out of the 60-1? I just purchased one. I have the rogue m-tune, 80lbs injectors, 3 bar fpr, 3 inch downpipe, 4 inch exhaust, Tial 46mm wastegate, e-85, bosch 044, Lindsey intercooler pipes and SFR intercooler.
