I represented our cars well this Saturday by taking the silver medal in the Swedish Time Attack series final race.
The 3.1l 16v turbo runs impressively strong at low boost. I was only boosting 0.8-1.0 bar due to the Spec Stage 4 clutch slipping.
The winner was a 950+ hp Supra and the other contenders in the top 5 all have 700-1000 hp such as insane Evo's and GT-R's.
It was a pretty slow and technical track so it suited my car well.

The engine is more powerful than my last 3.0l 16v turbo but I give the E85 tune most credit for that. I also have more aggressive cams on this build. Don't think the 0.1 liter extra displacement would be noticable in real life.

Nice outing and congrats! How far off are you from the first place finish- the guy with Supra 900hp+ motor? Can't tell but how fast were you pulling on the straight- 125mph or so? On a couple corners the car could be even faster me think but easy said then done. With the 3L, these short tracks are fun- not so for the 2.5L as it is more suited for medium to longer tracks. I agree, .1 more cc aint gonna make a difference- just for coolness factor.

I was 4 tenths off from the Supra. Some spectators seemed to think my car was the fastest around the corners (which it most likely was considering the power of the other cars). Around 120 mph or so. The datalogging wasn't working correctly. It was the first time for me at that track so it's true that some corners could have been driven faster. But with that said I've never seen a track video where I haven't felt the same way. It's hard to judge from a video.

All in all a great result knowing how much work you've put into your car over this year Duke! Then add the fact that you'd never driven this track, you're still have clutch issues which limits boost and you're just starting in on the Aero. These guys with the 900+hp cars will be looking at you now as a real threat. Congratulations on a great job!

Also have to say that Duke seems to have learned the handling of his car quite quickly considering the apparently limited track time he has had with it. With futher experience and the engine running on full load this is going to be Mjölnir on wheels.

And thanks. To learn to drive a car like this really takes a mental effort as I had to pass a couple of mental barriers coming from track day cars without aero and this type of grip levels.
Oh and now my damn clutch has let go totally so the engine is coming out..

Yep. My car is a widebody with 996 cup rear multi link suspension, custom double a arm suspension and uprights up front with 3 way ohlins dampers though so it's not so much of a 944 left in terms of handling.

I too have to admit having some apprehension over these 'Mental Barriers' regarding driving with much increased downforce. My guess is that you have to push a walking stick down on your right foot when normal instinct wants to take over and lift. Be interesting what your impressions are once you get onto a larger track.
