Seems a shame to watch this advertisment keep coming up. It's like watching the demise of a decaying Star. Get the impression that this will be for sale for some time to come.

The good things are that the body, chassis, fuel system, transmission and suspension would cost at least 2x the $60k they want for it, to build it.
The bad things are that the engine needs to be taken out, inspected and refreshed as necessary by a professional Porsche shop. Not the scrappy Mazda shop that R&R'ed and regasketed it last. And... the fuel system will need a new fuel pump and a new fuel cell bladder. I'd probably have the turbo inspected and rebuilt as well. And the triple adjustable JRZ's should be taken out and serviced. In all... not really a lot. And the engine comes out of that car in about 30 minutes the way it's setup.
In retrospect... I would have been FAR better off paying the $60k for the car and starting there.
I would advise anybody looking to build a serious 944 race car.... a professionally built race car.... to give this car a hard look. It's really a bargain price for what you get.
I still wish I bought it. And had I known that I would be going down the road I'm now traveling with my new car... I would have done just that.
