968 mirror retrofit 951 wiring
Yes, i did use the search... But no no answer in there.
I used the writup on pelican for the wiring, worked on the driverside but the passengerside gets me..
Are the purple wires for the temp sensor?
And in general. Is there a wiringdiagram that is simple to use, showing the wires to attach to each other?
Thanks
Want them to work,,

That could work. But would be nice to have these work. The purple wires are for the outside temperature sensor.
I did all te wiring as suggested but only the left mirror works and only up and down.. No lef and right...
Frustrating....

It does not seem to work..
Is there a picture of which wire does what. So the one for up, down, left right.. I got the originel connector from a donor 968 with a pièce of wire but no good..
Will the orginel motors from the flag mirrors fit? Of does that require modification?

Ok, i just replaced the 968 motors for the orginal motors with wiring. In the past the wires were connected with single connectors. It worked when i got them of my car but now they don't...
What did i do wrong. I can put the connectors to either go left/right or up down... Not both. Did i Miss a wire?
The motor has 4 wires, and 2 for the heated mirrors.
The white/Brown wires are double. And in the original connector it seems to be crossed with a black wire?
Then there is a Brown/black
White
Brown
And Brown/yellow
Really don't understand it anymore... Help
I thought matching the wires should be it but it s not,,

Man, it's been so long, but I used all parts from the kit I bought from Paragon (all OEM) and had no issues. I don't remember if they came with instructions or not, but I had no problem wiring them up and getting everything to work.

This is what i found in the pelican article
When removing the old connectors note the wiring, the ground is used twice in two different sockets, there is a small 2 inch black wire running off the ground into another socket so both side/side and up/down motion can share the same ground.
What wire should i cross?

The issue with the mirrors is the 951 door/mirror wiring harness does not have two ground wires that the 968 door/mirror wiring harness has. I connected two black wires to the white brown wire on the 951 door/mirror harness and the black wires go to the blue wire and the black wire on the 968 mirror wires or you can connect the white brown wire to the blue mirror wire and add a black jumper wire to the black on the mirror. I am uncertain but the passenger side on the 951 door/mirror harness may have the two black wires or two brown white wires. The brown yellow and brown wires on the 951 harness are connect to the brown wires on the mirrors and are for the mirror heaters. The black brown 951 harness wires go to the red wires on the mirrors and white to white. Hope that helps.

Just did this today. The detailed write up posted above was really helpful.
One additional data point. I purchased my 968 mirrors used, and asked the seller to include about 6 - 8 inches of the in door wiring harness. The two brown / white wires cross each other in the 968 door harness, replicating the function of the jumper wire in the 944.
So, bearing in mind i am splicing door harness to door harness, so I retain the factory conector in the base of the 968 mirrors, my wires were hooked up as follows:
968. 944
white white
white/brown white /brown
white/brown white/brown
black/brown. black/brown
and the wires for the heated element:
brown. brown
gray/green brown/yellow
Pretty simple, right?
Verified motor works and movement is as expected from switch (up means up, etc.). Have not verified heating feature.
Note: my car is an 86 951. No idea what wires are in other cars.
Above is for drivers side. Passenger side was more simple: ignore the the blue and green wires (digital outside temp display, i think). Remaining 968 door harness wires match up to 944 wires. Only one white/brown wire.
