Brake pad wear sensor wire removal?

Brake pad wear sensor wire removal?
I want to get this done. Anything I need to know? I just want to clean up the engine compartment before the repaint.
Also, do you race guys run the plastic wheel/fender liners?

I have been wondering this also. I would like to remove the wires entirely and not just clip them off from where they exit the sleeving on the harness. Anyone know if this is possible without major removal of the harness to pull out the wires. Also where do the wires run to? Under the dash or to the fuse panel?

The brake wiring is pretty easy to remove. If you are running the stock gauge panel then you will get a warning light. As far as wheel liners are concerned, they reduce damage to your fender from underneath from debris. If you look at the fenders without liners you will see that there are crazed marks in the paint from being hit from below, and if the hit is hard enough the fender will pimple for lack of a better word. If the looks don't bother you then don't worry about it.

I pulled the brake sensor wiring up to the firewall connection on each side, jumper the connector together, a small u shaped jumper made from a wire coat hanger will do the trick, tape up the jumper wire and connector, zip tie out of sight and no warning light on dash.

On mine I have a plug attached to the strut which plugs into the short wire coming off the sensor itself. The plug attached to the strut trails into a section of PVC sleeve which forms the main harness. This is the same for the rears. Where is the firewall connection?

Three Wheelin'
Are the two yellow cylinders that are mounted towards the rear-outside of the engine bay for brake pad sensors or ABS? Actually, what is the point of those things? The wiring going to these has definitely seen better days and the ends of the connectors are non existant. Could I get rid of those big yellow things and just rewire using quick connects?

I personally wouldn't use spade connectors (quick connects), but my car is an all season car.
To avoid the warning light, you just jumper the wires together (or directly attach them). I don't see why you'd want to get rid of the warning system if it's working, but I guess at ~$9 per sensor, and they are difficult to remove and move to the next set of pads, I can see why you might want to. It's a love hate thing here, I like having it, but I hate paying for the sensors, but do worry about un-even pad wear, but then again I do visual inspections too... agh!

Are you saying there is a connector at the firewall also?
