This is for a street car, right Doug? It'll be loud! Even if you manage to get a muffler in there, the short length of pipe nearly guarantees that it will be very loud. A good buddy of mine used to have a 2000 Lotus Esprit several years ago, and he only had about 2-3 feet of exhaust after the turbos, and it was so loud it would shake the pictures on the walls of my 3rd floor apartment when he fired it up in the underground garage. Also, check the laws in your state, I know some states have very strict laws about the farthest forward on a car the exhaust may exit. Otherwise, it's really cool idea, just thought I'd throw a bit of devil's advocate in there...

Spotted those too. Look very nice I'd have to agree.

Yes, street car. Maryland is pretty lax on that stuff. My uncle has a turbo fox body with a similar exhaust and no one bothers him.

Only been able to work on the car a few minutes at a time, but here is a bit of progress. The tubing will be cut shorter obviously.

Doug, it is possible to do, even simple if you know how to weld. My exhaust exits below my passenger door, and it evens retains the junction between it and the waste gate dump to help keep the obnoxious level down. There isn't a muffler, just a very small resonator and yes it is loud. I simple removed the exhaust section after the factory waste gate union and cat pipe and then welded an almost-U shaped section to the end of the cat delete pipe, and joined a short dump pipe for the waste gate to it just before it exits under the car. It isn't as loud as say, my old straight piped 84 N/A

Edit, didn't see your progress above. Looks nice, similar to mine though mine is cut flush. Did you include a resonator and is the waste gate dumped to atmosphere or tied in?

Right now there isnt even a wg for now it will be dumped. No resonator, 3" dp to 3" pipe to 3" oval.

Drove the S2 with its straight exhaust today, so loud is good!

I looked into this before and come to the conclusion that the only way to fit a side exhaust with a muffler on a race car is to cut into the floorpan. Otherwise it simply cannot be fitted. If you can - then the car is way too high
