Fuel injector injecting into a throttlebody... Pretty much the definition of throttle body injection. Perhaps not the traditional form, but Al is semantically correct.

An O2 sensor at each port would not live for very long - and probably not read correctly anyway...
We did do testing, and I am gearing-up to do a bit more. I will release the data soon.

I would hope that we can all get on the same page with respect to terminology.

TBI is a FI replacement for a carb on a carb intake setup, injecting fuel into a common plenum.

Port FI is one (typically) injector per cylinder irrespective of it being before or after the throttle plate.

Pissing contests serve no useful purpose......

These guys are trying to make big power with reasonable longevity on a shoestring budget. That (in my book) is what hot-rodding is all about. I wouldn't consider this 'engine development' since current technological rules are often broken or ignored due to budgetary constraints. They are two distinctly different camps; hot-rodding verses engine development. I find both fascinating.

The ONLY issue with the 5th injector is whether each cylinder is receiving a relatively equal amount of that 25% additional fuel. This is typically a function of fuel homogenization and intake charge distribution, and is only critical under heavy load. My testing on the 951 intake manifold tells me that distribution is covered, and modern fuel injectors typically do a pretty good job mixing their juice with air rushing by.

My guess is that Joshua's testing will show it works fine. If not, he's already said he'll bite the expense bullet and go to 4 bigger injectors.

So tell me again: What's the big deal?

Michael, I have the same feeling, I think that for the purpose and goals they have, it will perform fine.

I mean no disrespect to anyone, but when i see people trying different approaches to solve some of the issues encounter in the quest to produce big and reliable power, we should not be quick to discount there efforts and write them off, because there solutions don't agree with our own opinions. I don't think we are here to judge people, but to share and learn and that is great for this community.

Regards,
AL

Shawn can you give me a link where you got the wiring from? I just bough a harness from Josh B, and have all the connectors that I bought from Joka. My harness seems fine But since I have the connectors I decided to play a littlebit.
TIA

Here is one source:

check out pages 5 & 6.

P.S. can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong with this text link?

Cool, Manny. Do you mean the diagram or the actual wire?

I did not replace most of the wire as it was in pretty good shape. I generally buy stuff like automotive wire from Summit as they have a location in ATL and I can order at 11pm and have it delivered the next day.

Bought sleeving here:

Check this stuff out for cleaning contacts on DME and KLR connectors:

Down pipe is finished. Got it installed along with the rest of the exhaust tonight. If I do not hit any snags first start should be Saturday.

Hey Shawn is the 5th injector going to run under boost or all the time?..........the reason I ask is because of the placement, looks like it is possible that fuel may end up going through the turbo and intercooler. that could be a potential problem for the turbo down the road. what do think?

AL

Here's a friendly tip :

put studs on the down pipe. There will be a time you'll want to take the exhaust off and cursing trying to put it on.
