What are the options for NOT dropping the crossmember with spacers... to avoid altering the front suspension geometry?
Is the only issue hood clearance? So the options are (1) go with a cowl hood, or (2) flip the intake like TonyG and Disasterman?

Thales, I personally didn't want to use spacers because I planned on taking my car to the track. I didnt want the suspension to be different than originally designed. that's why I used a hood vent. I am possibly looking to sell mine. Since you are close you should come see it. Looking for 28k

I can shoot some pics later tonight if I remember. In the rain it steams a little, but that's to be expected. No real way around that. I love the way it looks, and it is functional in getting rid of heat as well. My car had spacers before and I didn't like that the coil overs couldn't get full adjustment. I prefer as I said for it to be sitting where it is supposed to sit. With the spacers, there is now way to achieve factory geometry.

How much HP does that bad boy create at the rear wheels?
What kind of wheels are those (size?) and did you use adapters?
Finally, what was your total cost to transplant the v8, including engine, kit, parts, and labor?

My car was already swapped when I got it... So I avoided a ton of cost off the start. But then I hydro locked the motor and replace just about everything the previous builder had done, and switched it from an ls2 to a 3... So I can tell you it was expensive, but I ended up taking the long road. I haven't had it tuned or dynoed... So I'm not sure what it's putting down.
The wheels are Victor Equipment Innsbrooks. I don't remember what the size of the wheels are nor the spacers I am using.

In fact, it's not necessarily a bad thing since it lowers the engine 1/2". I coupled that with lowering the trans 1/2" as well.
If it's an issue, then redrill the cross member up 1/2".

I'm about to upgrade my engine as well. Debating either a built LS3 short block or doing a slight bore on my current LS1. Have a set of 243 heads coming to me that I'm most likely going to send to that machine shop that ported yours Tony...
