From: one thousand, five hundred miles north of Ft. Lauderdale for the summer.
not extremely surprising.
in theory boost pressure should have the most to say about pushing the gas where it needs to go.
what you astronauts need is more cubic inches....
love to see a 3.7 inline five GM H3 engine pushing 1 atmosphere through the big intercooler.
would be epic and still sound just like a frigging **** motor....

Talk about a thread hijack... there has got to be a terrible pun in there somewhere
The cutie in pink needs to be locked up, I think the phrase "she asked for it" actually applies here.

Head is off. there was water in cylinder #3. not sure why. probably from the pressure test. Bores are clean (thank god) a few lines here and there but that's how it was originally when i did the HG 2 years ago.
Dad thinks the gasket let go but im not sure what he was looking at because i couldn't tell.
So head is off... What to do...?
- Fuel lines 100% im getting.
worth port and polishing? nothing extreem though, but id need a new custom intake? or it'll be a bottle neck?
Cant do to much to the exhaust since i've got the steering shaft there?
Cam? pointless with the stock head?

Blew a head gasket. Replace, and hopefully you'll have trouble free fun.

Driving home from a car meet, a coolant hose (the one that comes from the tube above the headers into the firewall) dumping the water out. i stopped at the nearest servo and filled up with water and had to drive 10 min home. in the 2 min it dumped all the water again, temp gauge on red. and around 1-2 min from home oil pressure dropped from 5 bar to 3 bar and loss of power.
We repaired the hose when i got back so it doesn't leak now.
Now each time i start it, it struggles to idle (sounds like it's stumbling) then it idles fine.
pulled the spark plugs, all black. compression tested it
last year while changing turbo:
1- 154
2- 145
3- 150
3- 145
Todays results
1- 125
2- 125
3- 125
4- 140
(both cold throttle open)
After i did that i opened the expansion tank and the water just exploded out (a lot of pressure in there)
so i get a pressure tester and put 18 psi in the cooling system and all i found was 1 old gasket leaking very slightly and a fitting from the turbo.
My theory so far is i've done the head gasket. Or if damaged the head and/or block. My dad doesn't think I've damaged anything but can't be to sure of that yet.

I got more horsepower, I do think it is worthwhile, but 20% increase in flow did not give me 20% more hp, so you have to keep that in mind.I did put a bigger throttle body on as well, (rb25 couple of mm bigger), that gave me a few horses. The head is the bottleneck so you can't expect much improvement from a different manifold without a lot of headwork.
