what makes this k26/6 fast
so playing this fast and furious video game tonight and there was 3 sti's, 2 evo's and a gutted out 944 turbo with a 3"exhaust, 15 psi on stock chip and a spec stage 3 clutch. they all claim to have 300+ hp. we did about 6 pulls. from a dig i was able to hang with the awd cars and sometimes get a car length ahead. i let off at the top of 3rd. this video game was easy!! lol
so my question is, what mods help get the win every time? was it the weight loss of 300 lbs? or the spec stage 3 clutch? or the fact that the 6 hot side has good low end torque? or maybe even the driver?
they were all nice guys and had nice things to say about the 951(which was a first time for the subaru guys). thats all

excuses ....one broke a diff, another said his bov was leaking, and another blamed his clutch. see its not just the 944's that brake stuff. the evo guy saw me at the track last weekend and told all his ricer friends that 944's can also make turns at speed. lol.

Our 3rd gear is such that it is low enough in the band to have a lot of tq. feel, yet still has the legs to run to 100mph. So any highway rolls in 3rd, which should be right about 60mph, are right in the sweet spot for power band and gearing, etc. Also interstate long on ramps are sweet!

I think i've got the same video game!
I also "had" before i upgraded more parts, a k26/6, TiAL38mm (dumped) 2.5" no cat. afmlink (no afm/maf) with Huntley chips, larger ic and a clutch that works. also at 15 psi
up against a monaro 5.7L aka pontiac gto. that was cammed and exhaust. it was a 3rd gear run from around 100km/h and i just pulled on him with about 3 car lengths until he caught up in top end.
so my bet is the midrange power from the k26/6
LMAO!

in a 1/4 mile 100lb. is .10 in ET!
A good clutch doesn't hurt either...I have only had mine slip once (do not powershift into 4th). Still I wouldn't truct my clutch to launch the car.
