Yes, your cyl head. It got a new life. Thanks for the great deal on it.

Thanks Joshua! Block had to go back to machinist to get ports added. I will get you some pics in a couple days.

I probably would would have went with a slightly higher CR if I could have easily for this very reason.

Sid has been looking at doing this in his thread IIRC.

Cool, another hybrid stroker project. How soon are you looking to get it back on the road?

Yes. 3.1 using a 2.5 block and 3.3 using a 3.0 block. This is with smaller dry sleeving, with mids you may be able to go even bigger. I don't see much point in going beyond the off the shelf 105.5mm bore though.

Shawn, are the rods you are using the 4g63t for 94 and up with the 1.038 big end width?

Did you make sure you're timing belts are up to shape before preforming these modifications?

Very nice Shawn!

Very cool and interesting project along with Sid's.. Make sure to post plenty of pics and in depth info along the way, so us less experienced engine builders can listen, learn and enjoy..

I've mostly worked on motorcycles and only done complete rebuild/overhaul to my race bike engine, but these stroker projects with mostly stock parts seems less intimidating then other 3-liter engine builds, and might just be doable for someone with my puny skill levels.. At least with the help of Rennlist and loads of pics to illustrate stuff..

Something I don't quite figure out and didn't dare ask in Sid's thread - can we still use Glyco main bearings when grinding that much material off the crank to reach that higher stroke?

Or are rod journals also ground?

Either way, interesting project and thanks for sharing.

only the bearing would change from the rod to the crank wouldn't they?

If you use a good crank guy they can straighten it after nitriding, I elected to have the mains ground initially and had to order main bearings from Porsche Germany.

The rods are the only ones that "have" to be undersized. If the machinist can do it.

Jesus, three weeks is a great timeframe. Hooray for projects on RL that don't take 3 yrs!

Fantastic, I'm really looking forward to seeing this project completed. My motor only has 45k on it, but when it finally needs to be rebuilt, this is exactly the type of hybrid project I've been dying to do. Can the bore be expanded a bit more to achieve 3 liters with this type of setup?
