Ok before I have somebody say the search the forums, I already did. I didn't find anything that was newer then 5 or 6 years ago. So I will arise the question. Is there any reliability issues with the 340 kit? My car is bone stock right now but I plan on changing the head gasket to a widefire gasket but besides that I don't know what else (if anything) that would need to be done.

Don't replace the headgasket unless it is bad. There is no reason to go through all that work for the a widefire. I wouldn't count on 340 whp from that kit.

I don't have the 340 kit, but I do have all the bits which goes into the kit and some more, all from Lindsey. I have the Super 65 turbo and the old MAF2 and Mafterburner. It does produce. It was dynoed at 390RWHP.
All stuff works great, but I do have issues with the turbo blowing Oil. I will in the near future put in a restrictor to see if it helps.
If I should go for this today, I would go BB turbo!
If you like the price and spec, I say go for it.
Playing with the Mafterburner has also gotten me interested in EMS, so I will go for this in the summer. If you are interested in EMS, I would go that route in the beginning. Saves money in the long run...

i would replace around 100,000 miles if its just a street car. i would do it by hours if track driven... regardless of oil analysis i would think of the rod bearings as preventative maintenance. would you use the same timing belt longer than 4-5 years based on rubber residue inside the cover? not truly the same thing but i wouldn't...

How many miles are on your engine? The 340 kit has been on my car for about the past 6 years with no issues, granted that's only about 12-15000 miles and it's currently sitting at 57 total. Unless you're nearing 100k miles I wouldn't worry about the rod bearings quite yet. Tuned on the dyno for 16 psi at about 305 rwhp I figure that's a reliable level of boost and it should give me many more years of fun. Good luck
