What is everyone doing for tanks?
Here is the 2 tank options that I see. (A third would be to go out and buy another tank).
The problem is that the little tank doesn't fit well enough to be vertical. At a slant, it only uses about 2/3s of the small tank.
The large stock tank holds nearly 2 gallons <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> and would be great on a street car. On a track car, that's a lot of weight. However, the bottom of the tank is very low. Where would you put the motor so that it would be lower than the tank?

If not, what about running through the stock headlight washer motor? (this is a suggested option by Aqamist). Mount the tanks higher and engage the wiper motor and pump motor at the same time.

DanD, I'm not at home but from looking at your tank out of the car, I think I'm going to drill into one of the flat sides, a couple of inches off the bottom of the tank, fwd or back of the pump. I have some quick set two part epoxy that I will use as thread sealant when I screw the male thread/tubing connector into the tank, I have an assortment of these at home. If that will work, I plan on snaking the tubing in by the intercooler and putting the pump on one side of the intercooler if there is room to mount it under the front panel. My first place for the nozzle is going to be into the side of the outlet on the intercooler. If the pump can't go there I'll put it down where the water crossover pipe used to be. I got rid of that pipe sometime ago.

It's 1/4" OD. Hard plastic (red) tubing. I've come to the same conclusion on the tank. Into the side and wherever I can put it close to the bottom of the tank. I just went to the hardware store to get some additional fittings for the tank. I'll look at the other side of the car for the pump. Remembering (thinking out loud) that I need to keep it below the tank outlet.
The nozzle will be a JBweld job about 1/2 way from the intercooler to the throttle. We'll see how that goes..

I've been eyeballing installation and decided to think over night.
I'd like to use existing tank for water and while my car is on jackstands I've been rolling around it with pump in my hand trying to find reasonable place for it. Not too easy in stock car since it is quite big and factory did good job packing it up. There are few alternatives for example besides brake cooling ducts but not much room or easy brackets there yet. Pump does not fit besides intercooler but nozzle could.
Alternatively I believe both provided reservoir and pump could be installed into washer tank area if it was removed.
JBWelding to that paperthin aluminium tube from intercooler to throttle does not bring up confidence. What if any ill effects would there be if I drilled and tapped outlet end of intercooler and JBwelded nozzle there. Speed of air in that chamber is slower than in tube.
If installed to front vertical wall of that chamber spray would be pointing somehow to tubing going to throttle body.
Just some thoughts, not ready solution at this end yet.

Well that takes care of where I wanted to try to mount the pump. hrk, since I'm away from home, could you give me the dimensions for the mounting brackets and the length of the pump? Did you get the 60psi or 100psi pump?
I think right where the intercooler outlet goes round, just before where the hose attaches, that's where I'll try the nozzle first as stated previously. I think there will be enough air moving at 15 psi, not to mention in just a split second more it will be at 18 psi, through the intercooler outlet to try there. Another reason is that with the thicker wall it will be much easier to plug if moving it should be required.
hrk, one more question if you don't mind,,,below the power steering pump, where the water crossover pipe mounts on the transverse brace; if the pipe was not there(I have removed mine), would there be enough room to mount the pump there, with the larger part of the pump facing the rear of the car? TIA.

Here's as far as I got today. Hopefully my pain will help the rest go smoother.

Picked up a 1/2" pipe by 1/4 compression right angle fitting. Drilled a hole slightly less then the 1/2". Used a tap to 'help' the threads start. Then screwed the right angle fitting into the drivers rear side of the stock tank, (see photos). It was actually pretty tight, but I went a step further and removed the fitting, epoxied and replaced the fitting, building up the outside for reinforcement. Then reinstalled the tank. (easier said than done)
As far as the nozzle, I have aftermarket (Homemade) intercooler pipes, and I had an extra fitting on the pipe. I cut it down, found a pipe fitting that fit almost perfect, tapped the pipe to add some threads, JB welded the pipe fitting to the intercooler pipe. Again, see photos. For the stock pipes, I would drill a whole, and weld or JBweld a similar pipe thread to the tube.
I'm starting with the small nozzle of the 2 that came with the kit.
As far as the pump goes, hmmm. There isn't any place for it to go... So I'll just give up...
Ok, I'm back, The only place that is lower than the water tank is the right infront of the AC condenser. I'll end up making a bracket and mount it there. I could bolt it to the spoiler, but I'm not sure I want to do that. Anyone else have a suggestion? Where did you mount yours???
BTW, The 60psi pump and the 100psi pump are the same. There is a 80-100psi pressure switch that mounts to the end of the pump replacing the 60psi switch.
I haven't started on the electrical. It shouldn't be too bad.

Couple comments that may stir an idea or two...
I was underneath my car yesterday with the plastic engine shield removed and I could plainly see the bottom of the washer tank. It seemed to me that there was room to drill from below and mount a fitting without removing the tank. Don't know for sure.
If you have the stock intercooler tubes, it might be feasible to mount the nozzle using a locking nut on the inside of the tube. May needs some "long fingers" and a lot of patience, but it would alleviate the issue of the thin wall material.
About the pump location... why does it need to be lower than the tank?

I just cut out a pc of aluminum here at work to act as a bung which I will have welded on the bottom of the intercooler pipe..after looking at your pictures Dan.
RJP - the pump needs to stay just below the lowest water level that will be in the tank. I would guess just to give it a very small amount of hydrostatic head pressure - to help out the pump suction.

Why cant you just remove the washer fluid motor and tap the fitting into that hole? Then if you want to use the power steering motor you can use the one like I have which sits on the top of the tank near the cap, it clips on( I am assuming that the black cylindrical piece you have displayed inserted into the tank is the motor for the wiper fluid)
Question, why do you have to put the pump lower than the tank and can you hide it inside that large part of the air dam under the intercooler duct? In other words above the spot you currently have the pump.
