Get him to do a group buy. His website says $299, see what he would do for 10 or more. $200-225, I'm in.

You are going to have to bid on the item, or send him a private email that you want to buy it straight up without going through the auction say for about $200, that way he can work with you up to $250. I would not buy it for more than $250. Check his items sold records on his auctions history, they all went for less than $250 some for $230. I wouldn't even mess with the auction, just tell them that you want to buy it right now, I can gurantee that he will sell it to yo for $250 or less.

Also on his website ther are a lot of upgrade items that really drive up the cost on the system.

What he has not told me is if that he will do it on an individual basis for RENNLISTERS or wait until he has 10 orders to ship, similar to the gauge pod. I will place my order on Friday, as I am getting ready to get on a plane for a couple of days. Either way, it looks like a good deal, $7.95 for most shipping. Here is the reply.

Brett,
Thank you for your interest in the Boost Cooler. A purchase of 10 kits
would fall under our dealer pricing schedule and is $225 per kit. There is
$7.95 per kit shipping and handling within the US. We accept all major
credit cards, cashiers checks, paypal, and personal checks ( although it
takes longer to receive the kit in order for the check to clear. Do any
applications require any upgrades - see www.snowperformance.net for details
or call me at 719-271-5644. I would need to know the FWHP and boost level of
each application in order to properly size the nozzles for each kit.
I look forward to working with you and your group,
Matt
Snow Performance

Give him a call directly and say that you are on the BBS RENNLIST for Group Purchase. I asked just few minutes ago about how he wanted to do this - I'll post it if it gets back before I leave for the airport.

Just got the reply so lets get * 6 * of us in on this!

Bret,
I can field the calls and keep track of the count and as soon as it hits
SIX, the dealer pricing kicks in and I'll begin processing.
Thanks, Matt

I gave him the link to rennlist and our discussion, so maybe he will chime in today. I may place mine at the airport! I'm IN.

I will prolly go along with this as well but I want to find out a bit more about the system. It looks like you have to pay another $40 to upgrade the system to 100PSI and they suggest that a check valve ($30) be used for high boost applications, although that requirement may be negated by running a 100PSI pump.

Here is the latest email from Matt. He is going to register and try to answer questions and give input, we can then upgrade or talk about options for different cars. I'll call him right now about the 100 psi pump. His paypal address, for those of you who want to use it, is listed below.

Bret,
I'll register and try to give some input. I recommend with turbo
applications that make boost at low rpm to use a full throttle switch (
$14.95 upgrade) in series with the boost pressure switch. Otherwise
injection will cause engine misfire until the engine is flowing enough air.
Also, we have nozzles for all applications. We don't supply the drill or tap
(7/16" drill, 1/4 NPT tap). My paypal address is
msnow@sturmanindustries.com.
Thanks, Matt

I got the same email from him. I am in. Another helpful option would be the low fluid warning light.
Lets get him to make a package for us with all the extra goodies:
-Boost Switch
-Full throttle switch
-Low level warning light

Matt, the owner of Snowperformance, has registered here to enter this discussion, discuss options, etc. He will probably be here tonight.

I ordered mine today with the check valve option, so 1 down - 5 to go for shipment. The standard pump is 60psi, the nozzles produce a 180 degree pattern, low level light available, several more options which can be upgraded as you upgrade.

Well, I'm still interested, but what is the real cost. Now it's jumping up dramatically. Do we need the 100psi pump to run 450hp and 25psi boost? (not that I am, but why do it twice.) If your on full throttle, you're always going to be on boost, except for low end and then is it necessary to have water injection at 2k rpms on full throttle? Won't the timing retard take care of any pings?

I just re-read Matts email above, what does the full throttle switch do? Boost switch? Is anthing RPM or Load based? Hopefully Matt will join us for answers.

As one of the few Rennlisters with the Aquamist system installed, I thought I should chime in. The aquamist system is available with a yellow warning light should there be a problem in water delivery. This might include air in the line, no fluid, or a low resistance through the jet as would happen if something disconnected or in my case, the jet failed to atomize. I have had the warning light go off at my DE events. I thought it was from the fluid sloshing around. On recent tests I discovered the actual problem. The .9mm jet was no longer atomizing the spray and the water was coming out in large droplets. With the lack of proper resistance through the jet, the system shuts down and turns on the dash warning light. If I did not have this system, I would not have had any idea I had a problem. When the light goes off, I know to decrease my maximum boost with my manual boost controller. I was also able to set up a LED light with the Aquamist system which shows when the system is actually spraying, so I can adjust it to the precise boost level that I would like it to kick in at. These are important features to look for in any water injection system IMO. I am not familiar with the system that you are looking at, but I would definitely get any optional warning equipment beyond a low fluid level light. The Aquamist system did cost me an arm and a leg ($700), but I believe you get what you pay for. I am justifying the cost by hopefully not having to buy race gas at $4.50 per gallon at the track any more. One weekend of this is over $100. Hope this is helpful, and glad to see that others are interested in water injection. I could use some company out there in terms of trying to tune it correctly.
