Would be a waste of those 6-pots to put them on 330mm rotors. Their curvature and bridge design are for a 350-360mm rotor. If someone sends me a Z06 caliper and a Cayenne 350mm rotor I'll mock them up on 87 NA spindles (76mm vs 94mm Turbo ears)

hopefully I'll have a drawing your way this weekend. I need to make some minor adjustments to the adapter to make sure the caliper is centered over the rotor.

Hell I can send you over my caliper when I'm done as well. I'll prob get a set in better condition when I'm done mocking this all up.

Yeah.... I've got big reds/965 rotors and I have about an inch of clearance between the caliper and the rim on my 17" cup 2 rims.

xschop, you need to also make this fit a M030 hub!

It fit's the M030 Hub....same 71.6mm hub as the rest. The M030 spindle is an over-priced NA spindle with radial mounts, it has the same stub shaft dimensions.

Rob, Do both the front and rear mock up! A matching set would be killer!

It's not that the M030 is superior to the non-M030 knuckle.

It's that new non-M030 spindles are about $775 each. With tax/shipping/BS, it's probably gonna be closer to $2k by the time they are in my hands.

And I won't put used 25 year old steering knuckles on my race car (and yes... I bought both my M030 knuckles new from Porsche in 2007).

So for that price... the conversion is not price effective for me. It's got to use a M030 knuckle.

*** Idea ***

Not to hijack the thread....

But has anybody contemplated having custom knuckles made? I just sent off a price quote request to china.

1. Material: FCD450-700
2. Molding method: Molding line.
3. Full dimension inspect

I can use a stock M030 knuckle as a sample... have the spindle "dropped", and have the steering arm "shortened", and have the caliper brackets setup for a 996 GT3 caliper (which I get for about $600 used).

That would fix a lot of issues....

Anybody up for a set?

:-)

I'm researching Audi TTRS spindles/arms - looking promising...

OK.... I just put a rear factory 17" Cup 2 wheel with a 3/8" spacer (which I run currently) on the front of one of the Speed Gallery race cars that had a 996GT3 rotor and 996GT3 caliper.

Guess what? IT CLEARED with almost 1/4" to spare.

What is the offset of a 996GT3 rotor compared to that of a 965 (C2 turbo) rotor? Anybody??????

Does anybody have adapter brackets for a 951 non-M030 steering knuckle to run 996GT3 calipers and 996GT3 rotors available yet?

I've been wanting to try this swap out for quite awhile, are you willing to share the bracket design you used or is it something you plan to market?

Thanks

XSChop will prob be manufacturing it so you can bug him, I'm sure he'll be very good on pricing. I can share the design if need be, but if you dont have a CNC readily available, its not worth much.
