I'm currently running a Hydroboost setup out of mustang, its basically the only "boosted" option(the other being an electric system I believe) for the swapped 944's.

I'm sure flat spotting will occur the first couple days on the track w/ this braking setup, hell it happenned on my last track day w/ the oem brakes. But I'm sure it will slowly go away with a bit of practice and possibly adjustment of the proportioning valve.

Oh well. No argument from me . You've figured it out, and it looks like a great setup.
Thats weird, must be a clerical error. thanks for the compliment, I was expecting alot of angry purists when I decided to post this

So did you luck out with your original specc'ing of the m/c's in terms of modulation? I've read that going to duals can lead to a large increase of necessary pedal pressure? Or, really long travel.

If you still have your current stock setup in the car it would be interesting if you could do a couple of measurements in terms of braking distance and then compare to the new setup. Obviously you should get increased cooling too but that's less measurable.

In the process of doing this brake upgrade I also replaced the spindles/hubs w/ 87+ ones so I dont really have the stock setup anymore.

Tilton sent a spreadsheet. Input car specs and...voila....duals with my set-up work awesome. It threw the Tilton Tech off a bit when I mentioned Lexus and Mazda brakes on the Porvette lol.

Dude, GM parts on a Porsche? Why not just get a Vette?

JK, nice job.

Exactly! I run 17x9 Cup II's all round for my track set up too. If these fit I may have to upgrade...

sorry for the lack of updates, between thanksgiving and other stuff going on I haven't had much time to work on the car. This coming weekend is completely clear though, so I'll see if I can find a 17" wheel (looking at you bruce)

Well, I have the replicas. So I don't know if it will be the same fitment as a real cup wheel or not. But you are more than welcome to use my rims and tires. They're just sitting doing nothing. 17" Stop by and pick them up. My guess is that it won't even be close.

as for the op,

fewer and fewer pricey parts from the Porsche bin might be good thing. God be praised.

long as you leave on the skin and the cassette box.

I don't know if anyone has pointed this out yet, but on a C5, when you do the conversion to the C6 Z06 calipers, it is required that you move up to 18" wheels. I know it's apples and oranges application-wise, but I wouldn't get your hopes too high on it fitting.

Depending on inner curvature, the cup 17's may fit. Spence posted a pic of my Wilwood kit with 330mm rotors and looks like there is room to play. Maybe even add 5-6mm spacers. The Cayenne rotors have opened a whole new can of worms....

well the z06 rotors are also 355mm...so there is some hope for you 17" guys as I'm using 350mm ones.

xschop will prob do the machining and if he's bored and has an extra 330mm rotor laying around maybe you guys can convince him to modify the adapter. I dont think it will work on the smaller rotor though due to clearance issues w/ the hub.
