996TT front brakes 964TT rear brakes- Proportioning valve question
I have 996 TT front calipers that i have to rebuild along with the 964 TT rear calipers for the rear that i have to rebuild. If any of you know a good place to get them done or a supply place.
My question is would i need a proportioning valve for the brakes? MY guess is yes

$248 per caliper, sounds expensive. What is included in that price?
Yes you need. Your original one.

"What is wrong in this "After picture" - The spring plates are just painted/powder coated over instead of being removed and/or replaced with new ones after painting. Could cause some problems with the pads sticking I would imagine..
When you rebuild those calipers, do you paint or powder coat them.? I plan to do my Turbo S calipers this winter and would like to paint them them red with black lettering. But what is the best way to do it.?

Olli what do you mean by "original one"? The only thing i see wrong with that picture are the hardware is painted.
What is included in that price is cleaning, painting and replaceing all seals and hardware. If it needs pistons then its a $80 a pop. I would love to do them myself but i have no clue as i never done anything like it before. And i do not want to find out if i did a good job or not at the track. I would do it if i had a write up but i haven't seen one yet.

Goldline does a nice job. The "after" photo has all hardware coated because the customer asked him to. I asked him not to, on mine, but I had him leave the crossover line on. Didn't care to ask him to separate the halves, either.
One nice thing is that he uses all brembo parts.

back to the original question. The need for propotioning valve comes from the size of your discs. If you use 330 F & 300ish R you need to upgrade the valve for more rear braking. Just can't now remember values...search and thou shall find. But if you have discs like 350F & 330R then the original is better.

Carlos I have been there. I called them first and went to pick up the parts later that afternoon. His prices were the best and has you mentioned it he's only 6 minutes away from you.

$35 per seal set.. 2 sets needed for 4 piston calipers ($70)
G2 caliper paint... $35 (may need 2 sets, but for argument sake lets go with one for all 4 calipers..)
So that is $70 + (.25*35) = $78.75 per caliper to do them yourself. if you can use one paint set.. otherwise it goes up to $88.50 per caliper..
vs
$248 per caliper... IMHO, the $175 for polimer coating vs paint, professional cleaning and servicing, and the time saved is a good investment... but I place high value on my time!

It's not wise to paint spring plate/ sliding plate or what ever they are called. It will definitely cause pad stuck. If those plates are in pictures just as show purpose, it's bad advertising.
What comes to question of P-valves imho original valve works just fine, even with bigger brakes.
