Carbon canister lines (weird) ?
Hey Guys
I must have read 10 -15 threads on deleting these lines that go to and from the carbon canister .. BUT, me being the **** nut job that I am, wanted to keep it all stock....
I just noticed something very weird. I removed the floor board panels from the bottom of the car, and it revealed that the hose that comes from the carbon canister is terminating under the driver's seat ??
Do I have some Mafia set up in my car ?
I thought that the line was supposed to return to the fuel tank?
It seems to in PET ?
Here is a picture below
Is this normal for a 88 TS ?
Thanks in advance
Ed
So the question is ......
Does it terminate under the seat ( mid car) and not go back to the gas tank?

As Jim says, Yep, that's the way its supposed to be. I removed all the emmissions stuff but still retained the vent under the drivers seat and zip tied it,, to the plastic panel, just like the factory. It saves quite a bit of weight and eliminates the problems associated with the evap control.

Just went to check my box of evap stuff and that line is still attached to the canister and looks to be exactly that length. It makes sense, the fuel vapor should have passed through the charcoal and that should have cleaned up the "emissions," making it safe to vent to the atmosphere.

I figured mine was still stock as I never touched it
But whats really weird is that PET has it going back to the gas tank
That would not be the first time PET was wrong !!
Thanks Guys very much
Best regards

Yes. They're plastic/bakelite/fiberglass (most likely the latter given how itchy I was after drilling a hole through it...) They don't span the entire car, just the middle-ish area around where the transmission would be on any normal car. Whether it's there for aero or keeping components from dragging on the road I can't really tell you.

Ah that line yes it goes to what everyone said. Didn't have the pic on my ipad.
yes it just ties up underneath. That was what mine did. Using computer now and see it's that big line not the ones by the fuel line.
