The human hand is a bit freaky. Can't you just use normal brackets?

Okay i'm confused, 300 rwhp on 20 psi e85? that seems very low, are you sure that wasn't a hp to kw mistake?

i'm loving all the red and blue bits!

Nope, that was just over 300whp at 22psi. Yes, according to all and sundry, it should have been quite a bit more. It will be interesting to see what the new setup gets on the same motor. While it will be tuned at a different place, it's the same Dyno that they use. I will also do a run at the dyno we use locally just to compare. Apart from that we will have a better grade of E85 while tuning but with the Ethanol % sensor I will use the previous vendor's E85 on our dyno so we can get as close to a comparison between the old setup and new.

Thanks Derek. It's getting pretty close to going to the dyno. I'd say 2-3 weeks. Getting a bit antsy...

300whp at 22psi is a bit ... low, to say the least. Should have been 400whp. But I think you were running a GT3071R? Still too low.

I think you have two motor combos going on now. Which one is going in this car? Turbo, head, liters?

The 300whp was on this current 2.5 motor that is has been in the car for a few years. Basically it is a stock motor built up from an n/a block and head with turbo pistons and rods. It's got a larger cam in it. Apart from that it's stock intake, headers, throttle body. There is the larger front mount i/c with larger 2.75" pipes and the SFR exhaust. The turbo is a GT3076 .82 If you note the different lines on the dyno it's a few different pulls at varying psi levels. Interestingly the dyno operator at the time said that the increase in psi didn't really yield much overall from 19-22psi but you can see that the midrange got a nice little kick. The lower range is crap.

I think with the cam and large exhaust I definitely lost some torque, but on the track it wasn't too bad. The car was about 2900lbs with 1/2 tank.

Thanks Dennis. Unfortunately this motor isn't the one you've seen nor is it using LINK so I won't have any hard data for comparison's sake. I hope to one day receive that motor....

It'll be very interesting on the final outcome of the whole car!

I'm hoping to see at least 350 rwhp on your motor

I was speaking with the owner of Fuel Control yesterday. They supply the E85 for the V8 Supercars, Carrera Cup etc. It is a control fuel at a constant 85% / 108oct year round. It's been found to be the best in the world by the fuel testers in Paris. The ethanol is 100% Sucrose based unlike some others. Cane sugar in other words. Anyway, I'm going to use this for the tuning process on another Dyno Dynamics workshop, but will go back to our one with 'normal' E85 from the bowser just to see the differences. Should be interesting.

Dyno Dynamics dynos are typically 'realistic'. If you want warm and fuzzy feelings, stick it on a Dynojet.

That dyno is well known as the 'heartbreaker', it reads about 20% lower than most other dynos in this part of the world, there is not a lot of point in majking a straight comparison, it is a tuning tool for racers who prefer low numbers. It is like 1.3 or more on a factory car.

Agreed Rod. That is why I want to go back to Tilley's on pump E85 to see the comparison. Even between different shops with Dyno Dynamics equipment might be interesting. We see D.D. dyno results in here sometimes too. Still, we are led to believe that a 2.5L with bigger cam, i/c, i/c pipes, exhaust and GT3076 on E85 at 22psi should yield closer to 400whp. With all due respect to the Vitesse product and evidenced by Sean's good results we should have seen closer to that figure than 302whp...but it is what it is. As you say, it's just a control tuning number rather than chest beating kudos, but is Tilley's dyno even 'more realistic' than other D.D. shops?
