Anyone ever see this happen to a motor mount
I assume it ruptured and the fluid leaked out ??
Is this common ?
Any thoughts ? ( Other then having to replace them)
Thanks in advance

Wow that thing is smoked! It's completely collapsed. What brand of mount is that? I have not used an aftermarket mount yet that held up like a mount from Porsche.

The heat shield on that side appears to be a shield for the left side installed upside down.

Never seen this before. I wonder if it dry rotted from sitting on the shelf for 6-7 years?

I'll stick to the factory mounts, more $, but will work.

I've seen many do this. Most of the aftermarket mounts are solid rubber and they suck. LR has some good semi-solid mounts, but only necessary if you have a fairly high tq/hp setup. The factory mounts give the best overall results, and your wheel will stop the dreaded, "shimmy".

On the motor mount, that is the original factory mount ( from 23 yrs ago )
As for the heat shield, ya know you got me wondering I must have put that on, and off, like 4 times ...like everything else on this damn car
I'll check that thanks

Yes thanks George, that's what I am planning to go with ...
If I wait a little longer, I can do the whole car over !!
So far, rear main seal went south, motor mounts and now I think the oil pan gasket is toast !! If only I had known this, before I put everything back together !

Well, I did for about 250 miles, but now the old lady leaks like a sieve
Here are a few more shots. If you look at the last picture on the top part of the oil pan can you see that drop of oil just above the cross over... Sadly that's going to be my undoing !!

..................You should just put that car in a vacuum chamber in a museum and never drive it again, and just buy another 951 and drive it instead. That thing's cleaner than new!!
