Default Faint fuel smell at rear of rail/near FPR?

As the title says, I have a faint fuel smell at the rear of my fuel rail, near the FPR and the #3 and #4 injectors... I've just replaced the injectors with the ones that came with the M-Tune, they have new o-rings. I pulled my FPR off to paint the rail and re-used the o-ring... I tried to find a replacement locally, but couldn't. The one I re-used looked very healthy though. I also have new Rennbay fuel lines.

I see no wetness anywhere, but the smell is constant whether the car is running or not... Any ideas? Anyone know where to get a replacement o-ring for the FPR?

As I said, the smell is very faint, but after recently having an engine fire, I really don't like the idea that some fuel is escaping.

TIA

Have you checked the fuel rail carefully for cracks?

I looked it over very carefully when I had it out... and, again, there is no wetness anywhere... Is there a more thorough way to check it?

I have heard when the dampener goes bad it sends fuel into the vacuum lines. Could be a possibility. I may have heard that wrong though

I checked around a bit more today, and there's no fuel in the vacuum lines, I can't find any cracks in the rail, all the fittings/clamps seem to be tight, the rail is seated properly, the retaining bolts are tight, and I can't find any wetness anywhere... by feeling or looking, and still there's that faint smell of fuel... I'm baffled!

I noticed this after changing to Lindsey braided lines. The lines are covered with black fiberglass heat shield so its hard to tell if the line is weeping.

Make sure you capped off the fuel vapor hard pipe at the firewall. I know you disconnected it at the back already, but there could be enough vapor there to cause a lingering smell.

I did delete the fuel vapor purge system, but I've practically put the hard line that is on the firewall up my nostril and I don't smell fuel there... I'll try capping it though, just to eliminate the possibility. What did you use to cap it, Matt?

I would check the fuel rail again using 5/7 psi of CDA . Thats how I found my leak. It was at the weld for the mounting bracket for the dampner. Good luck.

At this point I'm willing to try anything... Forgive my ignorance, but what is CDA and how do I use it to check for leaks?

I bought a little variety pack of rubber "caps" at Autozone, it included 4 or 5 sizes from tiny (1/16" ish) to large (5/8). I used one on the bottom of the TB, one on the vapor hard line, and one on the 5th port of my Laust manifold before removing it to tap that blue check valve into my crankcase vent...

I figured it out... I think I probably got the same caps. It didn't do anything for the fuel smell though.... I can't seem to figure out where it's coming from... It's driving me crazy!
