Post 968 M030 Sways-- Are they worth it?

Are M030 sway bars worth it for a street-only '86 951?

I like the idea of upgrading my sways with OEM equipment, but was wondering if doing so was good bang-for-the-buck.

Any thoughts?

TIA

i upgraded to 968 m030 bars when the whole set cost around 400$. its definitely been the best bang for the buck mod ive done so far, and a simple installation.

They certainly helped on my car and seem to be the best value in upgrade roll bars.

Thanks for the kind words BoostGuy951, and to the others for their input. Sounds like the MO3O's are the way to go. Paragon is selling the set for $299 which sounds competitive, so I may give them a call.

Crap, you had me excited there for a second but I looked on Paragon's site, It's still $299 for the front and $149 for the back. Sorry. And don't do that to me again...

I obviously had a senior moment. $448 doesn't sound quite as good to me as $299 either, although I'm curious as to why Paragon would only advertise the rear bars. Wouldn't it make more sense for them to advertise front and rear? I assume that most people would prefer to buy the set.

My humble opinion:Yes they are.

Much less roll than with std Turbo bars and the understeer which I had is gone, car handles in very civilized manner (rear bar in mid-position).

Bought them from local Porsche dealer for 400 euros, equals the same amount of USD,new bushings included...

Cheers,Pete

They are worth it! Between the 968 bars and the KLA strut brace my car has really improved.

The sway bars are an easy install and I also got the Delrin bushings F&R, the rear comes with a complete new rear housing for the bushings,,fit was perfect first time. I have the rear bar set in the middle hole,,seems pretty good at the moment. Looking forward to a DE in May.

I prefer the Weltmeister bars due to their adjustabilty. However this is for a race car so the adjustability is BIG help.

On street car fine tuning is not as big of a deal.

On balance however you will like the added roll stiffness.

the m030 bars are AWESOME. I had them on my car for approx 1 week before it was hit, and it felt like i got at least 10-15mph thru any corner, body roll was almost non-existant, i felt so much more confident with them. plus, the adjustable rear lets you dial in a little more or less over/under steer to suite your driving style.

I've got a set of m030 bars (front and rear) with delrin bushings and all new factory hangers/bushing holders, and billet aluminum annodized bushing holders for the rear center ones.... bought them from paragon (kinda think i paid a bit too much) -- but I won't need these on my new chassis so if anyone's interested on a STEAL for these, let me know. I'd prefer to sell them as a set / pair tho just fyi.

Does anyone know how I can identify what bars I have on my car? I'm sure when it was on the ramps being serviced I saw that the rear bar had 3 holes either end for adjustment. Would hate to buy the bars only to find PO already fitted them.

He had it lowered and fitted Koni adjustables all round so its a possibility...
