Default 1981 924 at the junk yard - or is it??

I was at the local Pull-A-Part today looking for stuff for the Honda. I noticed online where it said they had a 1981 924 so I thought I would take a gander. Walked up to discover this 1986 944 turbo. Pretty interesting - looks like someone went way out of their way to disguise this car. The 924 VIN was glued over the one on the firewall and the one on the sticker by the fuse box was scratched out. Original VIN appears to be WP0AA0950GN150221. No records in Carfax. I bought all the parts shown below in my garage floor for $182.44. The Turbo DME and KLR are good (with Autothority chips) as well as the fuel pump. Most curious of all though is the factory looking hardpipe for a MAF type setup. Anyone ever seen anything like that before?

I pulled the rear script seat cover off thinking it would be cool to have someone make something out of that fabric - maybe some sort of bag or a notebook cover or laptop case?

What was the condition of that dash? Didn't look too messed up. Might be worth it to offer them $50.

Dollar to a doughnut it was stolen. Bad yellow over Guards respray and scratched out VIN. I had a truck stolen years ago and showed up later with a bad paint job and different VIN. Same MO.

What's the adapter with the red wire sticking out? AFM to aftermarket MAF?

Are you planning on selling those black interior door handles?

Hi Josh!
I need a right mirror. What price do you want for it?

Let me know if you are interested in selling the temperature control module. I am specifically looking for the recirc switch/**** on the left.

Yep - May have been stolen early on and that would explain the lack of carfax records to that VIN.

Yep - Wish I would have spotted the car earlier - apparently it had been out there since Apr 24. Wonder if the trans and motor etc were originally with it?

Yes -selling everything. Does $10 plus shipping sound ok for the handles? I can send them USPS priority... Just would prefer a check over paypal.

Hey Sergey - do you just need the glass or motor housing too?

I am selling the whole thing together - AC button doesn't stay pushed in but the graphics are good on all the buttons and the clear surround piece is in nice shape. You can actually still buy just the **** from Porsche for $9.52. It is part number 9446532070001C

Stolen for sure...

Is that a no cruise control turn signal/wiper stalk in the pictures of the car?

Also how much are you asking for the DME/KLR with the autothority chips? Did you run them in a car? Are they the "Stage II" chips?

I'm also interested in the 2 little trim pieces that cover the screws on the dash trim.

No cruise and headlight washers. Post back quick if you want me to pull those as I am heading back that way this AM to return a dead radio. I would figure on $40 shipped.

I ran the DME and KLR in the car - I can get you the part number off the authority chips. I think they were setup to run 1 bar of boost as the car has a special banjo bolt on them. They may have been setup to run a MAF too. The car started and ran for about 15 seconds before it seemed to get too rich and died on the DME. With the KLR of course it was fine. Asking $125 on the DME with no chip and $50 on the KLR with no chip.

Little trim pieces I can mail out for $10 shipped but would want a check on them instead of paypal.

Interesting find Josh! That pipe sure is interesting and very factory looking although I have never seen anything like it.

Might be worthwhile to pull the 951 front end parts, even if they're ugly they're worth some $ if not too bad of shape.
