It might be a cleverly disguised 924 turbo
(I wish Derrek would chime in)

Guys,
The Huntley Zebra car does exist. What John is saying is that the 700hp motor is a fantasy. I don't know one way or the other. But, John has mentioned it on other boards.

exactly Dan, the motor has never been built, although its hyped by the HR team as though its running every race, its been off the track for years, in its present shape, a shell, primer grey, with just enough wheels to push it around.
Yes, it was a race car at one point...and a good one at that, Derrek can drive , I mean he can really drive...that I have to give to him, he really hangs it out there.
But all the recent hype about the zebra laying doen these great HP numbers are just guesses at best as the motor is still waiting to be assebled and the chasis is far from being complete.

this is trie. The Zebra was alive some years ago. Now dereck try to build it again with some very cool ideas but the car is still not ready. I mean it wasn't ready last time I saw. I do not know if he has finisch it now. Ihas a radiator inn the back, some really big intercooler, you could take teh front of teh car out in 5 min and some other good ideas. If he finisch the car it will be really fast but I saw it last september/octber. I am not sure if he finish it now.

PS i think the "old" Zebra had about 450 HP with a 2.5 l engine
the fastrest 4-cylinder tiull now was the Doom 2 3.1 liter with some 800 HP at only 5700 rpm.

Yeah, it was a turbo 968 engine. Check out http://www.bobnorwood.com. Bob Norwood's built some insanely powerful cars, like the 1000hp+ twin-turbo Testarossa...

Doom II is a tube frame race car with a very highly modified turbo 968 engine. From memmory it has not been allowed to race w/PCA (for which it was designed for). I'm not sure if they raced it w/SCCA they might've just retired the car.

Here we go:

That's doom II from the website Danno just posted. I'm pretty sure that 968 engine produced 1100hp at max boost (temporary). The huge intake above/behind the driver is not the engine intake, that's to feed the intercooler. Pretty neat stuff.

THe old zebra never made that kind of HP LOL, it was a bone stock 951 with stock head in its prime...running an MAF and large turbo, I don't know exactly what the numbers were, but knowing what we all know with these simple mods, I would say 330Hp at the max.

well a big head with a maf and a BIG Turbo can make 400 HP at high boost. I heard from a tuner in Switzerland that show the Zebra on the track somewher in Ca an he told me he was fatsre than some F40 and other expensive sport cars.
