If anyone happens to come accross an A/T new vette (non ZO6), it's numbers are right at ours. 0-60 about 5.7 1/4 13.8-14.00

Silverbullet,
You won't need to pull timing back...I ran up to 19psi boost daily...I agree with the list though...there is a limit to the boost you can run with good effects from such a small turbo.
Forget about timing, you need to get the fuel, and it has to be tuned properly.

will an AFPR help keep the mixture rich? or will I need bigger injectors? My goal psi is 18-20 psi without blowing anything. I think I'll probably need something else.

Yeah, you should have an AFPR for tuning. But you don't want to over-pressurize the injectors to the point where they experience lock-up and not operate realiably. That's usually around 70psi. So the most you want to increase idle pressure to would be 70-20psi = 50psi. That's about 1-bar higher than stock. Going through the flow-equations, this would give you 17% more fuel.
The next issue comes to getting a flat 12.5:1 fuel-curve across the board under full-throttle/high-RPM. You'll need dyno-tuning with custom chips burned, or an ARC2 fuel-controller.

Yeah you can dial in a mixture that's close with the ARC2 and an LED mixture gauge, but it's still only going to be in the ballpark (unless you have a wideband-O2/gauge combo). So dyno-tuning is still required.

Rage2: Your videos are great! I looked at the files on your site, and I saw that you ran 13.96@104 mph on a G-Tech Pro? Was it only a test run? Which modifications did you have at the moment?
My 951 is chipped and has a manual boost controller @ ~15-16 PSI. I ran 13.91@107.9 mph on a G-Tech Pro with really poor traction (crappy 225-50HR16 no-brand tires). Being given that you're able to spank the 996 and the Mercedes that way in your video, I'd expect you to run at least 118 mph trap speeds?
GREAT CAR by the way! That's one bad a$$ 951.

That was a really old run, when I first got a G-Tech Pro. At the time the car was stock + chips + K&N. I ran a 13.9@99mph at the track I think... I remember not being able to break 100mph back then.

I spanked the 996, but I was pretty much even with the SLK 32. I pulled so little on the car it could've been aerodynamics, not power. The nice thing is I have a lot of power on reserve, only running 12psi on pump gas =).
As for 1/4 mile time/speeds, we'll find out soon. The last few weekends the drag strip was closed due to snow and rain. As long as I don't blow up CV joints, I should be able to make a few passes to get a real gauge of how fast my car is.

I have owned an 87 951(totally stock), an 84 Euro 911 (tweeked to 2400 lbs and 335HP with a Quaife), a 964 Turbo (3.6 tweeked to 500+HP with RSR suspension, light flywheel, Quaife and regeared transaxle, 170 MPH back straight at "The Glen", hit the tire wall at 120 MPH at Lime Rock, bummer) and a 97 GTS Viper (3200 lbs, 550 HP, 3.73 gears, Porsche GT2 brakes, Koni coilovers).
The Viper just flatout has unreal power. I have run all of these cars extensively at the track with a variety of other cars. Very little can compare to the Viper. It is not perfect, and needs a LOT of help over stock with suspension and brakes(would you drive a car at 150+ into a turn with a stock 964 Brembo caliper in the front, and a Renault single piston caliper in the rear?). Unleashing additional power is easy (you've got 8 liters to work with). While all of this is GREAT and FUN, the drawbacks to the Viper are HEAT (you just can not get it too run cool), visibility, and size of car. It requires a lot of attention to drive. You always have to pay attention even on the street. The Porsches are just a better all around car in my opinion. I have recently gotten rid of the Viper, and I'm planning to buy another 951 to play with (probably a 89 Turbo S).
As far as the Z06 is concerned, it is still a Corvette and can be seen in most Porsche rear view mirrors.

The Z06 is a Porsche killer. You'd need at least a 996 Twin Turbo to beat a Z06. You wouldn't win by much either. I've never driven a Z06, but I lost to one in the SLK 32 on the drag strip. I can beat every stock Porsche except for the 996 and 993 Turbos in the SLK 32.
The Z06 is damn cheap too!

Yes, I can beat Vipers, ACR's, Z06's etc. at 20psi. My car's heavily modified though... stock for stock, the Z06 is a Porsche killer. That's what I meant.
Strap a S/C or Turbo to a Z06 or a Viper, and no Porsche, however extensively modified, can keep up. It's really unfair to compare stock vs modified cars IMO.
